I already told you, on another occasion, that Sundays are usually beautiful days for me, because either we go out for a tour of special places in Georgetown or we stay at home watching films all together, doing the lazy posture: nothing.
The Sunday I want to talk to you about was completely active. Even my mother was encouraged to accompany us. And without too much delay, arrangements or preparations, we took a taxi and went for a walk to MovieTowne.
It was the first time that my mother and I visited that place and we were amazed by its lights, its decorations, the cleanliness, the beautiful movie theater, the play park and the many food options from various restaurants, in this case my favorite was the Mexican restaurant Taco Loco. In addition, it has multiple clothing, shoe, costume jewelry, jewelry and mobile stores.
Unaccustomed to escalators, my mother and I struggled a lot to gain access to the second floor, while my husband and son snickered, trying to help us. We ended up giving up and went up the side fire escapes, with firm and sure steps, as we have done all our lives. You know what they say in my country: you can take the girl out of the country, but you will never take the girl out of the country.
Although the ground floor seemed more spacious at first glance, the truth is that on the second floor we found many agencies, game rooms, relaxation rooms and all kinds of services.
We stopped to take a photo of my mom next to a huge, very well-made ornamental dinosaur. And we already take the opportunity to take others as souvenirs.
Although we didn't stay to watch any movies, we were able to see the movie theater, which was spacious, clean, and had a pleasant, soft aroma. Right at the entrance a popcorn stand completed the customer service.
The MovieTowne has three floors, but we only had access to two, we never knew why the third was not accessible to the public. And once we had covered everything, we got rid of our curiosity with all the new things we found, my mother and I went back down, step by step and in the old fashioned way, the side stairs, while my husband and my son slid down the escalators, trying to hide their laughter at our fearful attitude.
When we left the place, we took another taxi to the Giftlan Mall, which is very close by, since we still wanted to continue the walk. We had visited Giftlan Mall on other occasions, we felt more familiar, however, I will never stop marveling at its beauty, no matter how many times I go.
We ordered some ice cream, we talked without touching our phones other than to perpetuate the moment and we finally returned home, with our eyes full of colors and our hearts happy.
Certainly, both MovieTowne and Giftlan Mall are places of choice to go out, go shopping, taste a delicious dish and enjoy unforgettable moments with the family.

Un saludo querida comunidad de #Worldmapin. Hace mucho que no compartía con ustedes algunos de mis paseos y me complace mucho regresar mostrándoles un hermoso lugar de Guyana, que mi hijo adolescente y mi sobrino pequeño, prefieren.
Ya les dije, en otra ocasión, que los domingos suelen ser días hermosos para mí, pues o salimos a dar un recorrido por sitios especiales de Georgetown o nos quedamos en casa viendo filmes todos juntos, haciendo la postura del perezoso: nada.
El domingo del cual quiero hablarles fue completamente activo. Hasta mi mamá se animó a acompañarnos. Y sin demasiada demora, arreglos ni preparativos, tomamos un taxi y nos fuimos a pasear al MovieTowne.
Era la primera vez que mi mamá y yo visitábamos ese lugar y quedamos maravilladas con sus luces, sus adornos, la limpieza, la hermosa sala de cine, el parque de juegos y las muchísimas opciones de comida de varios restaurantes, en este caso mi preferido fue el restaurante mexicano Taco Loco. Además, cuenta con múltiples tiendas de ropa, zapatos, bisutería, joyería y móviles.
Poco acostumbradas a las escaleras eléctricas, mi mamá y yo sufrimos mucho para lograr acceder a la segunda planta, mientras mi esposo y mi hijo reían disimuladamente, intentando ayudarnos. Terminamos dándonos por vencidas y subimos por las escaleras de incendio laterales, con pasos firmes y seguros, como lo hemos hecho toda nuestra vida. Ya saben lo que dicen por mi tierra: puedes sacar a la chica del campo, pero jamás sacarás al campo de la chica.
Aunque la planta baja parecía más espaciosa a simple vista, lo cierto es que en el segundo piso encontramos muchas agencias, salas de juego, de relajación y todo tipo de servicio.
Nos detuvimos para tomarle a mi mamá una fotografía junto a un inmenso dinosaurio de adorno muy bien confeccionado. Y ya aprovechamos para tomarnos otras como recuerdo.
Aunque no nos quedamos a ver ninguna película, sí pudimos observar la sala de cine, espaciosa, limpia y con un aroma agradable y suave. Justo a la entrada un puesto de palomitas de maíz completaba el servicio al cliente.
El MovieTowne tiene tres plantas, pero solo tuvimos acceso a dos, nunca supimos porque no estaba accesible al público la tercera. Y una vez que lo recorrimos todo, nos quitamos la curiosidad con cuanta cosa novedosa encontramos, volvimos mi madre y yo a bajar, peldaño por peldaño y a la antigua, las escaleras laterales, mientras mi esposo y mi hijo se deslizaban por las escaleras eléctricas, intentando ocultar la risa por nuestra actitud temerosa.
Al salir del lugar, tomamos otro taxi hasta el Giftlan Mall, que queda muy cerca de allí, pues aún nos quedaban deseos de continuar el paseo. Al Giftlan Mall lo habíamos visitados en otras ocasiones, nos sentíamos más familiarizados, sin embargo, yo jamás dejaré de maravillarme con su belleza, no importa cuántas veces vaya.
Pedimos algunos helados, conversamos sin tocar los móviles más que para perpetuar el momento y volvimos a casa por fin, con los ojos llenos de colores y el corazón contento.
Ciertamente, tanto el MovieTowne como el Giftlan Mall, son lugares de elección para salir, ir de compras, degustar un rico platillo y disfrutar de momentos inolvidables con la familia.
