"What would I do if I find myself in certain situations requiring a survival skill?" This is the particular question I ask myself whenever I watch survival movies like "Horror." Often, when I see those characters fighting for their survival, I always imagine myself being in that situation.
I know there is one thing that I keep telling myself, and that is "kill myself before anything kills me." At least I won't suffer the pain of being killed by a monster or zombie. But then what if I'm likely to survive? Another question.
This particular movie wasn't recommended to me by anyone; I just saw the title and got attracted to it. Besides, it's been a while since I last watched a horror movie, so I decided to download it and keep myself busy with it.
The Plot
The movie tells the story of "Clover" and her four friends who are retracing the footsteps of her sister "Melanie" who went missing some months ago. The group stopped at a gas station when Clover met the gas attendant and he told her that people intend going missing when they crossed the town mining part.
The group traveled down the town, but a heavy storm trapped them on the way, thereby forcing them to seek shelter in a house. The storm only affects that area, so when they enter the house "Abe" finds a board filled with the names of missing persons, including Clover's sister "Melanie".
The group finds themselves exploring the house when they notice a weird door downstairs. A masked assailant welding a pickaxe suddenly attacks and starts killing them.
After the group had all been killed, they would wake up and repeat the activities all over from the beginning. After a while, the group realizes that they are in a time loop with only thirteen deaths before they disappear like the other visitors. A lot of things went down that night. The group must look for all means to survive the night or become part of the night and disappear forever.
My Review
Firstly, I really enjoyed the movie as a horror fan; the movie is based on a horror game. Though the movie is not the same as the game, it has some character differences, and besides that is the essence of creating a masterpiece like this.
The cinematography was really good, and I was impressed not forgetting the acting. "Ooh my God" the different portrayals of horrors, but then it also possessed some sort of funny moments that would make you smile a bit before screaming, "Ooh my!" at those scenes that look scary.
In all, the movie is an incredible piece, and I would recommend it to all horror movie lovers to watch it. And I promise you that you won't regret watching it. I'm gonna rate this movie a 9/10.
