Avisala!
I'm not a stranger to sunsets. If you browse through my previous blogs, you can see that I had a fair share of sunsets that I shared here. The Philippines being a tropical archipelago, we have a lot of sunset locations to be proud of and I've been to a lot of them. But the sunset we witnessed in Siargao after our surfing was just otherworldly.
I didn't have a lot of photos because, after surfing, we were enjoying the live band at Ocean 101 Beach Resort. While drinking our tropical blue drink (I didn't know the name of that drink), we were approached by the drone operator who took a lot of videos while we were surfing. We got distracted by how beautiful the videos of our surfing were that the sun had already gone below the horizon. I wasn't able to capture the transition, but maybe @thestrollingmind has a lot of photos.
From warm colors, it immediately changed to hues of purple and pink. Now that's not unusual. I guess it's the towering coconut palms in the foreground that added depth and made the overall spectacle. But coconut palms are not unusual sights on tropical beaches in the Philippines either. I guess it's the overall vibe of Siargao that made everything perfect.
I think we just witnessed a slice of paradise at that moment. We even decided that we would definitely be back this year and stay on the island longer.
