RE: Back to the 80s!

I have to go with Dexys Midnight Runners, it was a classic song that is burned in my brain as part of my youth. It's a great song that I'll never get tired of hearing. Now Iron Horse was a clever twist on the GNR song, a bunch of old guys (damn, I'm one too now) doing a great cover! Cute blonde in the video too...

Michael Jackson got too damn weird over his career, I liked him best back when he was black with the Thriller album. Then there was the trial... And his propofol death... Everything he did he did weird. Man in the Mirror was a good song though and introspective. They did a good job covering it a cappella style.

Some great picks you found! Great job! Have some !DUO

Yeah, MJ just got too weird. He could never get over his demons from childhood and the more famous he got, the more he let it warp him. Shame. I try to keep his bizarre personal life separate from his music in my head so that I can still enjoy those 80s hits from him.

It really was shame. The fame came too early and he had a toxic family. Britney Spears had the same kind of issues. I'm not sure if it's the fame or family or both, but child stars in the English speaking world rarely do well as adults. Especially those from the 80's and 90's.

It's odd when compared to the Spanish speaking world, those young stars tend to go on to have successful careers and rarely self destruct. It may just be the toxic US culture of fame and materialism. Who knows? I wouldn't have let me kid be a child actor, that much I know...

I'm with you!
