In my country, school vacation is over, while in others, summer has just ended. What preparation are you making for your home and routine for the coming months?
In my country presently primary, secondary school has resumed it's session, and so is Most tertiary institutions in my country.
People tend to think, you have to prepare for just the juniors in primary and in high school, never thinking that preparation is needed for those in higher institutions, and i understand because most persons have already made preparations for their kids ( trust funds) but most persons like my siblings for example does not have that privilege.
Most persons even think it's easier than those kids in primary and secondary schools.
Having to prepare for school resumption is not just for parents alone, guidance, aunties, uncles and siblings are all involved in this training.
Why am I saying this, I have younger siblings who are in tertiary institutions (university)
Having no parents to take care of certain things has put more weight on us the elder siblings, having said that, the billing has started already.
Providing for both school fees and feeding has started already, the budgeting, calculating all that i myself need personally and catering for the others has put me on my toes.
Most times you even have to be involved in their roommate issues, sorting out disagreements between them.
How am I preparing for the month
I stay far away from home but my hands is still on deck with all the preparations,
I spent less to be able to send more home, and to my siblings in school because of this, I make sure there is a little bit of cash for immediate transfer even if it's little.
My older siblings provide foodstuff making sure it's always available to send down to them if need be. Thankfully this is harvesting season, so less money is spent on certain food, since they are already made available.
Their school fees is usually taxed between those of us that are earning, or taken from our rented out houses, it's never enough but it goes along way if we start saving earlier.
Right now, school has resumed, foodstuff that is enough for few weeks into the semester is already arranged, including stipend. When am paid Salary for this month, top up of the money will be sent to them again for upkeep and some textbooks.
