Upon the Ropes
See the waves and smell the sea,
Held by pane of glass is there from me.
The gulls are calling across the air,
Beckoning for more to join the chase.
A broken mind rambles countless word,
Yet voice once loud drones unheard.
Respected by those who passed,
Forgotten and unknown by what remains.
Ribbons tied in silkened hair,
Once fond memory left to despair.
The spark of light that lit the heart,
Faded and dulled until nothing's here.
Rustling leaves as breeze flows through,
Bringing fragments of life with you.
Not enough to hold and sustain a beat,
Just a taste of what moved along.
Brief the moments breath was took,
And underneath foot the soils shook.
Far the world seemed upon those days,
Yet rushing back solemn into the next.
White caps upon those waves below,
Strengths all drained from head to toe.
Let's have a seat and take a rest,
A moment more together in silence.
