The weekend is starting, and I hope you are making plans for your well-deserved rest. The truth is that after days of work and effort, it is always good to take a break and enjoy moments of tranquility and connection with nature and family. At least I intend mine to be quite relaxed and restful, looking for those little moments that fill me with happiness.
I want to share with you what I did in the afternoon, right after finishing my work routine at the Sunsol chain. At the end of the day, I felt the need to enjoy some time outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle of the day, and my husband accompanied me on the adventure because he wanted to see the sunset in Manzanillo, a charming place that always gives us some unforgettable photos.
To get to Manzanillo beach we took the 31 de julio avenue, which takes us directly to the destination without complicated detours. It is a very busy road, full of small stores, restaurants and hotels.
Ya comienza el fin de semana, y espero que estén haciendo planes para su merecido descanso. La verdad es que después de días de trabajo y esfuerzo, siempre es bueno tomarse un respiro y disfrutar de momentos de tranquilidad y conexión con la naturaleza y la familia. Al menos yo pretendo que el mío sea bastante relajado y descansado, buscando esos pequeños instantes que me llenan de felicidad.
Quiero compartir con ustedes lo que hice en la tarde, justo después de terminar mi rutina de trabajo en la cadena Sunsol. Al terminar la jornada, sentí la necesidad de disfrutar un rato al aire libre, lejos del trajín del día, y mi esposo me acompañó en la aventura porque quería ver la puesta de sol en Manzanillo, un lugar encantador que siempre nos regala algunas fotos inolvidables.
Para llegar hasta la playa Manzanillo tomamos la avenida 31 de julio, la cual nos lleva directamente al destino sin desvíos complicados. Es una vía muy transitada, llena de pequeños comercios, restaurantes y hoteles.
On the way, we passed by the “Hotel Hesperia Playa El Agua”, a place known for its relaxed atmosphere. Just as I saw it, I decided to stop briefly to take a picture. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture the image of the hotel with the clear blue sky of the sunset. After this short stop, we continued our journey.
En el camino, pasamos por el “Hotel Hesperia Playa El Agua”, un lugar conocido por su ambiente relajado. Justo al verlo, decidí detenerme brevemente para tomar una fotografía. No podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de capturar la imagen del hotel con el cielo azul despejado del atardecer. Luego de este pequeño alto, continuamos nuestro viaje.
Arriving in Manzanillo, we encountered a very special scene; the fishermen were returning from their hard day at sea, maneuvering their boats loaded with the day's harvest. It was impressive to see the amount of fish they had harvested.
Al llegar a Manzanillo, nos encontramos con una escena muy especial; los pescadores regresaban de su ardua jornada en el mar, maniobrando sus embarcaciones cargadas con la cosecha del día. Era impresionante ver la cantidad de peces que habían recolectado.
Their faces reflected fatigue, but also the satisfaction of a productive day. You could sense the camaraderie among them as they went about their unloading tasks.
We stood and watched as they began to carry the fish to the weighing area.
Sus rostros reflejaban el cansancio, pero también la satisfacción de un día productivo. Se podía percibir la camaradería entre ellos mientras realizaban sus tareas de descarga.
Nos quedamos observando cómo comenzaban a llevar el pescado al área de pesaje.
I was surprised when I saw the weight, the fish extracted weighed 230 kilos. What an impressive amount! Furthermore, I learned that the type of fish they brought was Catfish. It is amazing how the sea provides the livelihood of so many families, and the hard work of the fishermen makes it possible.
Me sorprendí cuando vi la pesa, el pescado extraído tenía un peso de 230 kilos. ¡Qué impresionante cantidad! Además, supe que el tipo de pescado que trajeron era Bagre. Es increíble cómo el mar provee el sustento de tantas familias, y el trabajo duro de los pescadores lo hace posible.
After this fascinating spectacle, we decided to walk a bit on the sand and enjoy the atmosphere. The comings and goings of families picking up some fish directly from the boats to take home added a special touch to the scene. It is a cycle that repeats itself day after day, but seeing it live reminded us of the deep connection the people of the community have with the sea.
Después de este fascinante espectáculo, decidimos caminar un poco por la arena y disfrutar del ambiente. El ir y venir de las familias recogiendo algunos peces directamente de los botes para llevar a casa añadía un toque especial a la escena. Es un ciclo que se repite día tras día, pero verlo en vivo nos recordó la conexión profunda que tienen las personas de la comunidad con el mar.
Very close to the entrance of the boats, we observed several restaurants offering fresh fish brought directly from the daily work. Imagine the delight of being able to enjoy a dish prepared with ingredients fresh from the sea, with that unmistakable flavor that we love so much.
Muy cerca de la entrada de las lanchas, observamos varios restaurantes que ofrecían pescado fresco traído directamente de la faena diaria. Imaginen la delicia de poder disfrutar un plato preparado con ingredientes recién sacados del mar, con ese sabor inconfundible que tanto nos encanta.
Little by little, the sun began to lose intensity and the sky acquired warm tones that were vibrant. The work of some fishermen continued, but now with a calmer atmosphere, while the sun was fading away.
When the sun was barely visible on the horizon, we decided to leave, but not before capturing some photographs to immortalize the moment. Nothing like keeping memories of beautiful moments.
Poco a poco, el sol comenzaba a perder intensidad y el cielo adquiere tonos cálidos que a su vez eran vibrantes. Continuaba la faena de algunos pescadores, pero ahora con una atmósfera más tranquila, mientras el sol se desvanecía.
Cuando el sol apenas se veía en el horizonte, decidimos irnos, pero no sin antes capturar algunas fotografías para inmortalizar el momento. Nada como guardar recuerdos de instantes hermosos.
It is curious how such simple things can bring us immense joy. That is why I wanted to show you, through images and words, a piece of my experience. Of course, there are aspects that can only be experienced by being there, the air impregnated with the smell of the sea and fish, the laughter and jokes of the fishermen happy for their day's harvest, the relaxing sound of the waves breaking against the shore. These sensations cannot be fully conveyed in words, but I try to do my best.
The essence of this experience has been to share with you the beauty of the everyday and the importance of enjoying it.
And speaking of special moments, this weekend will be Mother's Day, so I will surely have new emotional experiences to share with you.

Es curioso cómo cosas tan simples pueden brindarnos una inmensa alegría. Por eso he querido mostrarles, a través de imágenes y palabras, un pedazo de mi vivencia. Claro, hay aspectos que solo pueden experimentarse estando allí, el aire impregnado del olor a mar y pescado, las risas y bromas de los pescadores felices por su cosecha del día, el sonido relajante de las olas rompiendo contra la orilla. Esas sensaciones no las puedo transmitirse del todo con palabras, pero intento hacerlo lo mejor posible.
La esencia de esta experiencia ha sido compartir con ustedes la belleza de lo cotidiano y la importancia de disfrutarlo.
Y hablando de momentos especiales, este fin de semana será el Día de las Madres, así que seguramente tendré nuevas experiencias emotivas que compartir con ustedes.
