Today I want to share with you a beautiful moment I experienced with little Karel, a girl who, at just nine years old, already shows a talent and artistic sensibility that is deeply moving. You may remember that I mentioned her before, when she gave me one of her paintings. At that time, I wanted to tell you more about this little artist, but since her dad was traveling, I only had her mom's consent to show her work. Now, after talking to her father, he told me that his permission wasn't necessary, that the most important thing for him is that Karla wants to share her art. And she, like any passionate artist, is happy to show what she creates with so much love.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un instante muy hermoso que viví con la pequeña Karel, una niña que, a sus cortos nueve años, ya demuestra un talento y una sensibilidad artística que conmueve profundamente. Quizás recuerden que en una ocasión anterior les hablé de ella, cuando me regaló una de sus pinturas. En ese momento, me quedé con ganas de contarles más sobre esta pequeña artista, pero como su papá estaba de viaje, solo tenía el consentimiento de su mamá para mostrar su trabajo. Ahora, después de conversar con su padre, me comentó que no era necesario su permiso, que lo más importante para él es que Karla quiera compartir su arte. Y ella, como toda artista apasionada, está feliz de mostrar lo que crea con tanto amor.
Karla told me that there are people in her family who enjoy painting, even though they never developed the skill professionally. She feels very fortunate because her parents have always been attentive to her interests, supporting her since she was very young so that she could dream among brushes, colors, and canvases. She showed me some sketchbooks that she has cherished since she was just five years old. Seeing them, I couldn't help but feel moved: every stroke, every color, every shape spoke of a girl with a boundless imagination.
Karla me contó que en su familia hay personas que disfrutan pintar, aunque nunca desarrollaron la habilidad de forma profesional. Ella se siente muy afortunada porque sus padres han estado siempre atentos a sus intereses, apoyándola desde que era muy pequeña para que pudiera soñar entre pinceles, colores y lienzos. Me mostró unos blocs de pintura que guarda con cariño desde que tenía apenas cinco años. Al verlos, no pude evitar emocionarme: cada trazo, cada color, cada forma hablaba de una niña con una imaginación desbordante.
As I observed her work, I noticed that she has a penchant for landscape painting. Although she is very young and her tastes and style may change over time, she currently also loves to paint flowers. Karla loves bright colors, those that convey joy, positive energy, and reflect her luminous personality. She confessed to me that painting makes her feel free, that every time she picks up a brush she feels she can express everything. In her own words, she told me, “When I paint, I feel like I am myself.”
A medida que fui observando sus obras, noté que tiene una inclinación por el paisajismo. Aunque es muy joven y sus gustos y estilo pueden cambiar con el tiempo, actualmente también le encanta pintar flores. During my visit, she took me to an area of the house that she calls her special place. There she has her easel, which she has named “The Easel of Dreams.” She told me that she paints all her dreams on it. She showed me a painting she was finishing for her dad, whose birthday is coming up. With a smile full of emotion, she sat down to put the finishing touches on it, and minutes later, she was hanging it on the wall. She said, “That will be his gift, just for him,” a beautiful display of love turned into art.

Con una sonrisa llena de emoción, se sentó a darle los últimos retoques y, minutos después, ya lo estaba colgando en la pared. In addition to being a budding artist, Karla is an excellent student. Although her big dream is to become a famous painter, her parents have made sure she has a balanced childhood, full of play and learning. She recently started painting classes, as her parents wanted to make sure she enjoyed her childhood without pressure. However, in her free time after school, the only thing that motivated her was painting. So they decided to enroll her in classes, and since then, Karely has been learning new techniques and further developing her talent.
I asked her what she had learned in these months of classes, and with a charming smile she replied, “To improve some of my work and to sign everything I paint, so they know who I am.” That sentence moved me deeply. How important it is that from an early age they learn to value their identity and feel proud of what they do.
Además de ser una artista en crecimiento, Karla es una excelente estudiante. Aunque su gran sueño es convertirse en una pintora famosa, sus padres han procurado que tenga una infancia equilibrada, llena de juegos y aprendizajes. Hace poco comenzó sus clases de pintura, ya que sus papás querían asegurarse de que ella disfrutara de su niñez sin presiones. Sin embargo, en sus ratos libres, después de la escuela, lo único que la motivaba era pintar. Así que decidieron inscribirla en clases, y desde entonces, Karely ha estado aprendiendo nuevas técnicas y desarrollando aún más su talento.
Le pregunté qué había aprendido en estos meses de clases, y con una sonrisa encantadora me respondió: “A mejorar algunos trabajos y a firmar todo lo que pinto, para que sepan quién soy”. Esa frase me conmovió profundamente. Qué importante es que desde pequeños aprendan a valorar su identidad y a sentirse orgullosos de lo que hacen.
My husband and I, thrilled by her dedication, gave her some paintbrushes as a gift. Then we told her we wanted to give her another gift, but not paintbrushes. With her characteristic sweetness, she asked us for a paintbrush holder, since hers was quite old. I realized that her motivation is genuine, clear, and constant. As promised, this week I will buy her the paintbrush holder she wants so much.
I wanted to share this moment with you because I thought it was wonderful how Karla, even at such a young age, preferred paintbrushes to a doll. I enjoyed every moment with her, and I couldn't help but tell you this story that filled my heart.

Mi esposo y yo, emocionados por su dedicación, le regalamos unos pinceles. Luego le dijimos que queríamos hacerle otro obsequio, pero que no fueran pinceles.
