One more Wednesday with you, dear friends of #wednesdaywalk. It's a pleasure to participate in this interesting initiative of @tattoodjay, which allows us to share our walks and discover those of others. It's always beautiful to see the diverse landscapes and experiences that everyone captures in their day to day.
The landscapes of the island in these days of intense heat look really spectacular. The sky, of a deep and intense blue, giving us natural and urban postcards that are unforgettable. For this reason, I really enjoy the drive to work.
Although the heat can be suffocating, the beauty of the surroundings makes every drive a different experience, every day.
Un miércoles más con ustedes, queridos amigos de #wednesdaywalk. Es un placer participar en esta interesante iniciativa de @tattoodjay, que nos permite compartir nuestros recorridos y descubrir los de los demás. Siempre es hermoso ver los diversos paisajes y experiencias que cada uno captura en su día a día.
Los paisajes de la isla en estos días de intenso calor se ven realmente espectaculares. El cielo, de un azul profundo e intenso, regalándonos postales naturales y urbanas que son inolvidables. Por esta razón, disfruto mucho el camino al trabajo.
Aunque el calor puede ser sofocante, la belleza del entorno hace que cada trayecto sea una experiencia diferente, cada día.
After my workday was done, I set out to wait for my husband, who is always concerned about my comfort. Neither he nor my son want me to travel uncomfortably, especially now that I have the splint on my arm and cannot drive. So, I just have to wait patiently for them to come for me to take me where I need to go. I value this greatly, as in addition to ensuring my safety, it allows me to enjoy the trip with peace of mind and take the opportunity to capture photographs of different places.
Después de realizar mi jornada laboral, me dispuse a esperar a mi esposo, quien siempre se preocupa por mi comodidad. Ni él ni mi hijo quieren que viaje incómoda, especialmente ahora que tengo la férula en el brazo y no puedo manejar. Por ello, solo debo esperar pacientemente a que lleguen por mí para llevarme a donde necesite ir. Lo valoro enormemente, pues además de garantizar mi seguridad, me permite disfrutar del viaje con tranquilidad y aprovechar para capturar fotografías de diferentes lugares.
On hot afternoons, we like to be near the sea and breathe fresh air, enjoying the sea breeze that comforts us and fills us with energy.
En las tardes de calor intenso, nos gusta estar cerca del mar y respirar aire fresco, disfrutando de la brisa marina que nos reconforta y nos llena de energía.
However, this time we wanted to do something different, so we decided to explore beyond our routine and ventured to the El Tirano sector, where we found the “Iglesia del Carmen”. This beautiful church, located on La Iglesia street, between Las Flores and San Rafael streets, in the municipality of Antolín del Campo, is a corner full of history and charm.
Sin embargo, en esta ocasión quisimos hacer algo distinto, así que decidimos explorar más allá de nuestra rutina y nos aventuramos hacia el sector El Tirano, donde encontramos la “Iglesia del Carmen”. Esta hermosa iglesia, situada en la calle La Iglesia, entre la calle Las Flores y la calle San Rafael, en el municipio Antolín del Campo, es un rincón lleno de historia y encanto.
Although the church was closed, this did not prevent me from appreciating some of its beauty. Its structure stands out for its several entrances and a bell tower that crowns the building with an elegant cross on top, giving it a unique appearance.
Aunque la iglesia estaba cerrada, esto no impidió que pudiera apreciar parte de su belleza. Su estructura destaca por sus varias entradas y un campanario que corona la edificación con una elegante cruz en lo alto, otorgándole un aspecto singular.
While I was observing the place, a young man who was nearby, told us a little about his faith and also told me that in a few months they will begin its restoration, since they had received the approval of the mayor's office to make improvements. The truth is that it is noticeable that it needs some repairs, but even so, it preserves that traditional air that makes it special.
Mientras observaba el lugar, un joven que se encontraba cerca, nos habló un poco de su fé y también me comentó que en pocos meses iniciarán su restauración, ya que habían recibido la aprobación de la alcaldía para realizar mejoras. La verdad es que se nota que le hace falta algunos arreglos, pero aun así, conserva ese aire tradicional que la hace especial.
Right next to the church is the Plaza Simón Bolívar del Tirano, a pleasant and well-kept space where huge oak trees provide cool and comforting shade. Each sector of the island has its own plaza, and we found this one in particular to be a perfect place to rest for a moment and admire the surrounding architecture.
Justo al lado de la iglesia, se encuentra la Plaza Simón Bolívar del Tirano, un espacio agradable y bien cuidado, donde enormes robles proporcionan sombras frescas y reconfortantes. Cada sector de la isla tiene su plaza, y ésta en particular nos pareció un lugar perfecto para descansar un momento y admirar la arquitectura circundante.
After touring the church and the square, we decided to return home, satisfied to have explored a new place and to have discovered a little more of this beautiful island.

Después de recorrer la iglesia y la plaza, decidimos regresar a casa, satisfechos por haber explorado un sitio nuevo y haber descubierto un poco más de esta hermosa isla.
Queridos hivers, quedé muy complacida con este recorrido, pues gracias a él pude conocer esta bella iglesia y la plaza que la acompaña. Espero que a ustedes también les haya gustado y que disfruten este paseo tanto como yo. Nos volveremos a encontrar en otro de mis Paseos de Miércoles.
