What an interesting day it was at pen-ultimate event of 2025 World Rally Championship in Japan. Three Toyota drivers were very close and battling for the lead until one of them, local driver Takamoto Katsusta, didn't make a mistake and had to retire for a day. He will restart tomorrow under Super Rally rules.

But two of the are battling for this years crown - Championship leader Elfyn Evans and eigh-time WRC champion Seb Ogier (both Toyota, of course). Ogier leads currently and the gap between him and Evans is only 6.5s. They can't make a mistake because everything is gone in that case.

There is also something called Super Sunday which brings 5 additional points for fastest Sunday drivers plus Power Stage which brings another 5 points for fastest driver at Power Stage. In total, the maximum is 35 points which some of them can take after this weekend.

But there is also Adrien Fourmaux, fastest of Hyundai drivers who posted two fastest special stage times today and he is 23.6s of the lead. It would be good for him to score another podium but for a win, two of guys in front of him should retire or make a bigger mistake.

Just to add that Sami Pajari (Toyota) holds 4th place overall, while Ott Tanak (Hyundai) is 5th in an older spec of i20 Rally1 car.

Rally finishes tomorrow and there will be a plenty of action until the finish line. Let the best win - as always...
