Hi, friends!
Italian Andrea Mabellini (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) led the super difficult gravel event Rally Hungary after first full day of competition, but after a puncture he lost complete lead over fast Finn Joope Korhonen (Toyota Yaris Rally2). Mabellini later stopped with broken suspension and that was the end of his rally this weekend. It seems it was very difficult mentaly for Italian but in these kind of situations, you can see who has the strongest mentality and who is tough or who is weak.
Mads Ostberg (Citroen C3 Rally2) made a strong comeback after some tough outings and after a bad crash at Rally di Roma Capitale last summer when his regular co-driver Patrik Barth suffered bad injuries and stopped his career. Ostberg finished 2nd overall in Hungary and bagged lots of points this weekend.
Polish driver Miko Marczyk finished 3rd overall in his Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 and now holds lead in the European Rally Championship standings. Very good step for him.
Lots of drivers crashed out or retired during the weekend and that just says how tough was Hungarian gravel. Overall, very good event for the series.
