Toyota Yaris Rally2 machinery is putting a stamp on its category as probably the fastest car although it sounds strange because of 3-cylinder engine, but the performance is just ahead of competition. And when you add a fast driver who understands the car, then you have the best combo.
Young Finn Roope Korhonen drives this car for some time and now he really understands how it works, the setup and many other things like how to take out maximum of machinery and gain the top times at special stages.
From what I see, his Toyota Yaris Rally2 was the only Toyota in the top 20 of qualifying and most of the cars are Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, proven machinery on every series across the world. Italian Andrea Mabellini was 2nd on the qualifying in exact model of Škoda and he knows the stages from last year.
M-Sport Ford factory driver Jon Armstrong was 3rd at qualifying in Ford Fiesta Rally2 after topping the list in the practice run ahead of qualifying. Action started tonight for real with super special stage and Italian with Romanian competition license Simone Tempestini posted fastest time at that short stage.
Real action starts tomorrow with longer stages. Let the best win - as always...
