I wanted to tell you about Bun Om Tuk festival also known as the water festival. I will also tell you about Ok Ambok that is happening tonight.

So I didn't have school since it is Bun Om Tuk day in Cambodia. Bun Om Tuk is basically a boat race and maybe a little bit of culture or history in it. So I got 3 days off for it and I have to go back to school on Monday next week. From what I know there is a race in Phnom Penh happening around 4pm.

I have never watch the race myself but I've seen them on TV and phones and stuff. Actually I kinda saw a rehearse once or twice and that's it never a real race. I really hope I could next year but I heard it was not worth the trip if you live kinda far away like me.

So there is like a celebration that the pagoda is hosting tonight. It is called Ok Ambok so it is translated to pour crushed rice to your mouth. I think they do it every year on a specific date mostly in November. I think it is done to celebrate the full moon and other stuff but that is all I know. My neighbor ask my mom this morning if she wanted to go but it is at night so my mom didn't go. I got invited a few times by my friends too but I said no since it is at night and I don't think it will be fun.

From what I heard from people who went the celebration is that sometimes people will try to force those crushed rice or bananas down your throat and just run away afterward. It is mostly young people like my age and stuff that does that thing. So I don't see myself going to those events anytime ever, I might if my mom goes too then I will go too. It is because if you went with your mom or anyone that looks like 30 years old then they won't bother you except for some idiots.
