Greetings friends of Hive and the Architecture+Design community, I have come to introduce you to an integral health center called El Comité, a physical and cognitive rehabilitation clinic in the Department of Antioquia with two locations in the capital city of Antioquia, that is, here in Medellin, Colombia. To begin with, I want you to know that I knew about this clinic because my little brother received several medical attentions here and I can say that El Comité provides a very good service from its two locations, one in the Prado Centro sector and the other one in Aguacatala. The building that I knew is the one in Prado Centro, on Carrera 50 # 63-95, here they attend adult patients and children in modern and comfortable facilities designed to provide good care to their patients who have disabilities because this is a clinic specially planned and designed to serve people with special needs.
Saludos amigos de Hive y de la comunidad Architecture+Design he venido para que conozcan un centro de salud integral llamado el El Comité, es una clínica de rehabilitación física y cognitiva que está en el Departamento de Antioquia con dos sedes en la cuidad capital antioqueña, es decir aquí en Medellín, en Colombia. Para empezar quiero que sepan que yo conocí esta clínica porque mi hermano pequeño recibió aquí varias atenciones médicas y puedo decir que El Comité presta un servicio muy bueno desde sus dos sedes, una en el sector Prado Centro y otra que está en Aguacatala. El edificio que conocí es el que está en Prado Centro, en la carrera 50 #63-95 aquí atienden a pacientes adultos y niños en instalaciones modernas y comodas diseñadas para brindar una buena atención a sus pacientes que tienen discapacidades porque esta es una clínica especialmente planificada y diseñada para prestar servicio a personas con necesidades especiales.
When you see the blue letter "é ” you are in El Comité. This clinic is also known as El Comité de Rehabilitación, that's how we call it or simply El Comité. As I told you this is the headquarters of Prado Centro and as you can see on the main facade of the clinic is the letter "é ” in 3D, large scale, PVC material, resistant, neat and with a soft blue color that relaxes my brother because that is his favorite color :)
En lo que veas la letra "é" azul es porque estás en El Comité. También a esta clínica se le conoce con el nombre de El Comité de Rehabilitación, es así como nosotros le decimos o simplemente El Comité. Como ya les dije esta es la sede de Prado Centro y como ven en la fachada principal de la clínica está la letra "é" en 3D, a gran escala, de material PVC, resistente, cuidada y con un color azul suave que relaja a mi hermano porque ese es su color favorito :)
From the moment you enter El Comité you can tell that it is a health center for people with disabilities because the way to enter the main building is a concrete ramp with a natural granite floor, meaning that the floor is not polished and that is good for patients who have crutches, canes and wheelchairs. The ramp has turned iron railings painted black, this railing is for safety so that no one falls into the void because the ramp is quite high from the door of the main building of El Comité to reach the sidewalk of the street.
Desde que uno entra al El Comité se nota que es un centro de salud para personas con discapacidad lo digo porque el camino para entrar al edificio principal es una rampa de concreto con piso de granito al natural osea que el piso no es pulido y eso es bueno para los pacientes que tengan muletas, bastón y silla de ruedas. La rampa tiene varandas de hierro torneado pintadas de negro, esta reja es de seguridad para que nadie caiga al vacio porque la rampa es bastante alta desde la puerta del edificio principal de El Comité hasta llegar a la acera de la calle.
The building is not a new construction, it is noticeable that it is from the last century and El Comité is more than 50 years old, but it is noticeable that over time the clinic has been modified and adapted for the services it provides in the modules of care for adults and children. I like it because the attention is given in spaces that work in a lighted, orderly, comfortable and with facilities for mobility with equipment and devices and special spaces that are adapted to people with disabilities.
El edifico no es una construcción nueva, se nota que es del siglo pasado y es que El Comité tiene como más de 50 años pero se nota que en el tiempo la clinica ha sido modificada y adaptada para los servicios que presta en los módulos de atención para adultos y para niños. Me gusta porque la atención se da en espacios que funcionan desde un ambiente iluminado, ordenado, comodo y con facilidadades para la movilidad con equipos y dispositivos y espacios especiales que se adaptan a las personas con discapacidad.
The waiting areas are well equipped with seats, there are so many that it seems that there are too many empty seats, but it is better that there are too many seats so that no one is left standing. Patients and companions can be comfortable while waiting their turn, they can even choose a good book if they want to read.
Las zonas de espera están bien equipadas de asientos, son tantos que parece que sobran porque hay muchos vacios pero es mejor que sobren para que nadie se quede de pié. Pacientes y acompañantes pueden estar comodos mientras esperan su turno, hasta pueden elegir un buen libro si quieren leer.
You can go up to the second level using elevator or stairs. It is a two-story building, it is not high but the elevator is a solution for people with reduced mobility who need to go to medical services on the second floor, for example to the gym for rehabilitative therapies.
Puedes subir al segundo nivel usando ascensor o escaleras. Es un edifio con dos niveles, no es alto pero el ascensor es una solución para las personas con movilidad reducida que necesiten ir a servicios médicos del segundo piso, por ejemplo al gimnasio para hacer terapias rehabilitadoras.
I think I'll be doing therapies soon too because I have a cast on my arm, I'll tell you that I fractured my right wrist. The good thing is that it was the right one and I'm south, that's why I'm here making this publication :)

I take a picture of this spiral staircase and I see all the details, such as the anti-slip protectors on the granite steps, safety is not neglected even for employees who need to go to the large dining room that is in an open and well-lit area.
Tomo foto a esta escalera de caracol y veo todos los dettalles, como eos protecctores antirresbalante en los escalones de granito, no se descuida la seguridad hasta para los empleados que necesitan ir al ese amplio comedor que está en un área abierta y bastante iluminada.
In the corridors and walls of El Comité you can see messages that speak very well of its commitment to integral health, you can see messages that invite you to take care of the spaces and you can also read messages of recognition to institutions and people who have cooperated with El Comité.
En las pasillos y paredes de El Comité se pueden ver mensajes que hablan muy bien de su compromiso con la salud integral, se puede ver mensajes que invitan a cuidar los espacios y también se leen mensajes de reconocimientos a intituciones y personas que han cooperado con El Comité.
El Comité is a clinic that has given excellent care to my brother, the truth is that its comfortable facilities make people who go there feel good but also the treatment offered by the staff is very good. I remember his scared face before entering the clinic and the happy face when he left, he is always scared at the beginning but then he feels calm @alandesign :)
El Comité es una clínica que ha dado una excelente atención a mi hermano, la verdad es que sus cómodas intalaciones hacen sentir bien a las personas que van pero también es muy bueno el trato que ofrece el personal. Recuerdo su cara de miedo antes de entrar al consultorio y la cara de felicidad al salir, siempre le da miedo al principio pero luego se siente tranquilo @alandesign:)
