What do I see?
I see a poor man who has refused to stop his journey despite the rain. He got himself raincoat to keep him from getting wet and also protect his goods with nylons.
What do I feel?
I feel he is a man of great determination that had refused to let nothing stop him from moving forward.
I have been wanting to share this experience ever since I encountered my old secondary school class mate recently, I'm grateful this resonate with the event.
Some weeks ago, I was opportune to supervise 100 level exam at the Lagos State University and after arranging the students in the hall, I saw a guy that looks so familiar and I was so disturbed in my mind. I try remembering his face and where I met him before, since I couldn't I walked to his seat and asked where he had his primary and secondary education and fortunately he mentioned my secondary school. I remembered him immediately, he was very small then and do carry a big bag that is bigger than his back.
Seeing him in 100 level I assumed I senior him until I questioned him further and he told me he graduated in 2011 then I remembered he was the shortest boy in our set then. What happened? Why the delay? ...I was so surprised.
After his exam, we both sat down and he told me that he got admission into university of Ilorin after our graduation and when he got to 300 level he couldn't pay his fees and things were so difficult for him. So, he dropped out and started hustling but he was determined to still further his education. I looked at him with so much joy because he never allowed the rain of poverty to stop him, he his working now which is the raincoat and still moving towards his goals.
This story encouraged me and make me appreciate where I am presently. I'm more hopeful than before and i won't stop moving until I get to my destination.
Thanks for stopping by.
