How are you all? I hope everyone is fine and doing great in their life.
In one of my recent blogs, I shared that I opened my Splinterlands account after almost two years of time. I really had no idea about what had happened to the game, as a lot of things had changed while I was away. So I just explored the game and realized that I have some Chaos Legion packs, I had 10 of them.
I was confused about whether I should open them or sell them and buy the new card packs instead, since everything has changed and maybe the new cards will help me keep up with the game.
But then I talked to one of my friends who plays the game, and I asked him whether I should try playing with my old set of cards or go for the new cards by renting or buying them. He then explained to me what the new cards are all about. Thanks to him for that help as it helped me a lot.
So, there are some new playable modes that can only be played using the new cards, but my old cards are still good enough to play regular battles or modes.
So, the battle modes I can play right now are the Survival battle mode and the Wild battle mode.
But the Modern battle mode requires the new set of cards, which means I need to buy Rebellion or Conclave Arcana cards. I also found out that to play the Wild Battle Mode, I need to buy a Wild Pass, which costs 2000 DEC tokens which is not too much to pay for one season and I think I will do that.
My friend suggested that I should try playing Wild Mode after the current season ends, as it was about to finish and so buying a Wild pass was not a good idea at the moment. But the Survival Mode was still available to me, so I played that using my old set of cards most of them are chaos legion cards.
So, I am going to share my first battles in Survival Mode, using the old set of cards. In the screenshot below, you can see that I am on the lower side of the game screen, while my opponent is on the upper side. You can see that I chose Obsidian as my Archon, which gives +1 magic attack to all my players.
The first round went in my favor, and I was able to eliminate two players from the opponents team, as you can see in the screenshot below. As soon as I defeated the Pelacor Mercenary, after that the second player named Hunter Jax, moved at the first place.
Since it has ranged attack characteristic, it was useless in that position because it simply can't attack from the first spot. In no time I was able to eliminate him as well as you can see below.
Anyway, let’s move on to Round 2 of the game, where I also lost one of my cards. As you can see in the screenshot below, I lost my Mycelic Slipspawn which had +3 magic attack . But the opponent also lost almost all of their players and were only left with Blackmoor Wild Elf, which I believe is a new card.
I haven’t seen it before, and the second card was Venator Kinjo which is another new card as I have never encountered in my Splinterlands playing history.
And finally, the results of the last round can be seen below, where I landed the final blow to the opponent's team and won the match. This was my first Splinterlands match after almost two years, and I’m honestly surprised that I won it but I am happy about it as the feeling of winning is always good.
Maybe it was just a fluke, but I will try my best to get back on track and perform well this season, especially since the new season has already started. I am also going to explore cards from new packs soon so that I can either buy them directly or try my luck at the Packs as well.
