Plain Tiger butterfly

in Nature Observer7 days ago

As the sun was just beginning to shine, among the dense green leaves, I found a Plain Tiger butterfly perched peacefully. Its wings were tightly closed, and it didn't move at all. It didn't rush or move when I approached. Perhaps it was camouflaged to rest peacefully there. Judging by the color and pattern on its wings, its camouflage was perfect, resembling a fallen leaf. Golden brown combined with white and black.

At first glance, this butterfly looks more like a fallen leaf on a green surface. Look closely, the golden brown is the base color of its wings. The white resembles small holes worn by time. Meanwhile, the black resembles the shadow of another fallen leaf on the dry leaf surface or the butterfly's body. The presence of striped patterns on both wings further reinforces the butterfly's resemblance to a dried leaf. The black stripes resemble leaf veins. Its appearance is indeed very simple, yet it conveys a deep and complex impression, like the story of its life.
