In the stillness of a warm morning, I discovered an Indian cupid butterfly perched on a fully blooming Israel grass flower. This butterfly was very small and unobtrusive. Its color was simple, gray, adorned with black dots neatly arranged in a distinctive pattern.
At first glance, it looked very simple and ordinary. But if we observe it closely, we will discover its hidden beauty. It simply rested on the flower petal, not seeking attention. Yet, it quietly stole my heart.
The most striking feature of this butterfly were the two orange spots on the tips of its wings, they resembled a pair of eyes. Near these false eyes were also delicate tails that resembled antennae. This is a natural survival strategy, a strategy to deceive predators into attacking the wrong place.
The grass flower where it had perched seemed very welcoming to this tiny butterfly. To us humans, it was perhaps just a small moment, a second that passed us by. But for them it is very different, it includes life that goes on as it is, both the tenderness and the steadfastness that blend beautifully between butterflies and flowers.
