Hasselt's spiny spiders

in Nature Observer13 days ago

Among the fresh green plants, a fine, barely visible web hangs gracefully. A creature is dangling gracefully there. It's a Hasselt's spiny spider, known in Latin as Macracantha hasselti. It's a unique and incredibly tiny spider from the Araneidae family.

Hasselt's spiny spiders are among the easiest spiders to distinguish between males and females. Males are very small, while females are slightly larger. The one I encountered was a male. It was very delicate, and the color and shape were identical, both males and females.

This spider's distinctive characteristics are its striking coloration and unique shape, with sharp spines on the edges of its body. Judging from its back, it looks like it's wearing a suit of armor from a fairy tale. It's truly beautiful.

At first, I thought the spider was resting in its home. After observing it for a while, I realized it was building a web for its resting place. He designed his webs with such precision and ease. He didn't seem to mind my presence. He continued to work.

I am a sucker for spider webs 🕸 they look very artistic. You did well photographing the web with the spider 🕷

No. I'm not an expert yet. I'm still learning. It's very difficult to photograph it.
