Cumana is a city with great tourist potential. Its seascapes are spectacular, and fishing is one of its main economic activities. When I walk along Avenida Perimetral, I can see both images: on one side, the magnificent blue horizon, and on the other, the artisanal fishermen going about their daily work. The presence of the boats reminds me of landscape paintings.
On this occasion, I stopped to contemplate the beach, which was very beautiful today, with the sea and sky looking like a blue tapestry highlighted by the eastern sun. From where I stood, I could see a boat, and although it did not seem like the right time for fishing, they were using a technique that consists of leaving some baskets, or nets, to be collected several hours later. Fishing is undoubtedly an art and requires knowledge and experience.
Going for walks on the beach has been a great way for me to relieve stress. I feel lucky to have this magnificent ocean view so close by. From the monument to Caigüire, I can enjoy the wonderful scenery. The imposing sea lies immense and powerful before me. I have always felt that it has the power to give me the peace of mind I need in times of stress.
In addition, I can look towards the other coast, Manicuare and Araya, places I plan to visit this year. Smelling the salt air, sinking my feet into the sand, listening to the roar of the waves and the chirping of the seagulls will always be pleasant experiences for me, which I have treasured since childhood and relive every time I have the opportunity.
Perimetral Avenue is a very popular area in the city, not only because its boulevard is an ideal place for jogging and walking, but also because many people come here to improve their health. There is also a playground and the famous Coctelitos, where shellfish are sold: pepitonas, snails, squid, oysters, and shrimp, among others, ready to eat, seasoned with lemon, salt, vinegar, and even hot sauce, a must-try for tourists and visitors.
An open-air chapel, offering a magnificent view of the horizon, is another attractive spot on this route. A large wooden cross stands as a symbol of faith for fishermen who venture out to sea and for believers who give thanks to God for the wonders of nature, including the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets in Venezuela.

Cumaná es una ciudad con un gran potencial turístico, sus paisajes marinos son espectaculares, además una de sus principales actividades económicas es la pesca. Cuando paseo por la Avenida Perimetral puedo observar ambas imágenes, por una parte el magnífico horizonte azul y por el otro a los pescadores artesanales en su faena diaria. La presencia de los botes me llevan a pensar en las pinturas paisajistas.
En esta ocasión me detuve a contemplar la playa, hoy estaba muy hermosa, el mar y el cielo parecían un tapiz azul resaltado por el sol oriental. Desde mi posición podía divisar un bote y aunque no parece la hora adecuada para pescar, estaban utilizando una técnica que consiste en dejar algunas cestas, o masas, para recogerlas dentro de varias horas. Sin duda pescar es un arte y requiere de conocimiento y experiencia.
Salir a caminar por la playa me ha resultado una buena opción para liberar stress, me siento afortunada por tener cerca esta gran vista marina, desde el Monumento hasta llegar a Caigüire puedo deleitarme con el maravilloso paisaje. El imponente mar reposa inmenso y poderoso ante mí, siempre me ha parecido que tiene ese poder de transmitirme la tranquilidad que necesito en momentos apremiantes.
Además, puedo mirar hacia la otra costa, Manicuare y Araya, lugares que pienso visitar este año. Sentir el olor a salitre, hundir los pies en la arena, escuchar el rugido de las olas y el trinar de las gaviotas siempre serán experiencias agradables para mí, las cuales atesoro desde niña y revivo cada vez que tengo la oportunidad.
La avenida Perimetral es una zona muy popular en la ciudad, no solo porque su boulevard es un espacio ideal para trotar y caminar, son muchos los que acuden a este lugar para mejorar su salud, además está un parque infantil y los famosos Coctelitos, la venta de moluscos: pepitonas, caracoles, calamares, ostras y camarones, entre otros, listos para comer, aderezados con limón, sal, vinagre y hasta picante, toda una referencia para turistas y visitantes.
Una capilla a la intemperie, desde donde se tiene una gran vista del horizonte, es otro lugar atractivo en este recorrido. Una gran cruz de madera se levanta como símbolo de fe para los pescadores que se internan en el mar y para los creyentes que agradecen a Dios por las maravillas de la naturaleza, entre las que se encuentran el amanecer y el atardecer más hermosos de Venezuela.
