Splinterlands is a strategy game, where players are given a lot of monsters with their own ability and stats, which can make a great synchronize to make them better on the battlefield. The combination should considering the ruleset as well, because some ruleset will give advantage to certain monster or ability, while some will give a bad effect on them. So, combination is very important on Splinterlands.

My Favourite Monster Combination

I have some favourite combination, but lately, I have one which I often use to help me win the game, here it is :

First I got the Thunderhoof Nomad. This rare earth unit is having 2 magic damage, 2 speed, and 4 health point at her 6th level, plus the deflect and strengthen ability to support her and the team with 1 health point addition.

The second monster is Ujurak Elder. This monster is having only 1 magic damage, 1 speed, and 3 health point, but he got the divine shield and camouflage to protect him, plus the strengthen to support him and the team with the health poin bonus.

Why They Works Well ?

Let's the what the same things about them. First, they are both the reward cards which mean I can easily have them from the glint shop, and doesn't need to keep rent them or buying them. Flexibility is very important !

Now here is the most important things, they both having the same strengthen ability ! What does that mean ? Is it that good ?

Well, let me tell you, it's very usefull ! 1 additional health is sounds not very impactfull, but when it comes into 2, it feels like it really protect the team ! Especially when I use the tank with the regen ability like Halfing Refugee. This is because the healing ability will have 1 additional regen effect (health gained) for every 3 health point they have. With 2 strengthen, you can almost get 1 more regen effect !

I will explain one example of it.

Here is the formation and the ruleset for the match.
We got little league ruleset with 22 mana cap, perfect for using both monsters that only cost 3 and 4 mana.

Both team are using max slot, and I use the combination that I love even with the limited level due to low summoners level.

How the Battle Goes

At first round, I manage to eliminate the enemy tanker. Meanwhile, my team still full. Strengthen is playing important part because enemy got execute which is very dangerous when facing the low health monsters.

I manage to eliminate 2 monster at the 2nd round, and 2 monster of my team is hurted a lot and once again the strenghthen help them to survive !

Manage to eliminate another 2 monster at 3rd round, now it's clear who win, right ?

Yap, I win the match smoothly thanks to the double strengthen !

Why it Worked and the Conclussion

The reason why it worked on my side is because :
#1. I have tough tanker to supported by the additional of health point. Tanker with regen, shield, or void will grant more effect because the way they can naturally can survive.
#2. My enemy damage is not high enough, and some are spread into the backline. Having different target and aim for the backline can be usefull to eliminate enemies damager, but with 2 health addition, it will be hard for enemy to eliminate the backline.
#3. No ruleset that give disadvantage for the combination. If there is no heal ruleset, my combo might not be that effective because my tank wouldn't healing himself, so keep watching the ruleset.

So, the double strengthen combination is very usefull to give your team more survival chance, and it can be even more powerfull if you got strong tanker with heal or damage reduction ability. This combination will help you against the assasin that want to eliminate your backline. Please keep watching the ruleset as it might not very effective on certain ruleset like when the mana cap is very high (cause you can get more usefull monsters).
