Imagine a world without illness, violence, hunger, poverty, etc. Everyone is living their lives peacefully, and no one is being selfish, only wanting everything for themselves alone without showing concern for their fellow beings. Honestly, no one would be left sad but everyone would become happy and live a good life.
Of course, this is what God wanted for us from the beginning. He wanted us to enjoy life to the fullest. He wanted us to have a taste of beautiful things and what they have to offer. But God decided to do something in the beginning; just because He created us doesn't mean He shouldn’t give us free will, too.
He made the first man and woman in the garden and gave them everything they needed; water, food, land, seas, animals, etc. Trust me, that was a beautiful thing a loving Father would do for His children, but amidst all of this beauty, He placed a tree which signifies choice. Despite giving some instructions to follow, He intentionally placed the other tree to test man. But what happened? They failed the test.
That was the beginning of a fallen world no one ever wished to live in. Sin crept in and everyone decided to live on their own. And the struggle started.
Despite the struggles, God still cared for humanity but we are only just rebellious to do things our way. Do you know what God said? Do you know how He felt after seeing all of these? He felt sad. He regretted creating us because of the behaviour of man.
The truth is, growth can never happen without struggles (suffering). This world is already imperfect, and we must definitely expect to suffer to become whatever we want, but there is always a way out, which I won’t be talking about here to avoid going spiritual.
As kids, we are raised to deal with life’s situations with different perspectives and methods. From a young age, we’re being taught some morals and skills to navigate life and create something better for ourselves. Take, for instance, a child who wants to be great in life would have to attend school, go to a higher college, pass through tests and examinations, and get a certificate after graduation.
These experiences while in school would teach the child what’s to come after leaving the four corners of the school and finding his feet in the world, rather than becoming a liability. It’s like a child who wants to be a great warrior, he would have to submit to a higher person who would train him to become the best and powerful warrior.
Tell me, do you think such a child won’t face some injuries on the way? Won’t he be bruised with scars to remind him of his experiences which then would turn to lessons for him? It’s like being given a lemon but turning it into lemonade.
What will become of each individual depends on us. It starts first with the mind - to become who you want to be. The scripture says, as a man thinks, so he is. We must pass through trials to become better and those trials teach us amazing lessons that will help us grow and even become stronger in the future.
We can’t expect a perfect world now until later in the future. But the question would be: will I be part of such a perfect world where there wouldn’t be illness, hunger, war, violence etc?
