Should Cash Be Obsolete?

in Hive Learners8 days ago

Greetings, everyone!

In the present age, if the government gets rid of cash currency and adopts digital means of payment, there will be a lot of challenges because of the elderly people around us. This world is not only occupied by young people whose minds are digitally wired, but we also have our old mothers and fathers who are not eligible or capable of operating this digital asset. Instead, there should be a balance of cash and digital payment for peace to reign in our country.

It will be so unlawful to get rid of cash currency. Most of the time, I do find it difficult to make a transfer when I buy from the market, because of network issues and a low battery. This evening I went to buy a bag of sachet water, just to make a transfer of #500. I stood there for some minutes, and mosquitoes were perched on me. It's discouraging most times. A few weeks ago, I made a transaction twice with someone, from whom I bought a t-shirt. Why did that happen? It was because of a bad network. Imagine the woman wasn't a church member, what would I have done? I called the woman, and she said that's true, she refunded the money. Was if I was dealing with a criminal.

Cashless policy shouldn't occur again; it brings frustration, and our elderly individuals would not be able to relate if the government gets rid of it. And there will be a lot of scandalous issues. How about those who do not have a bank account in the village, how will they make a living? There are days that power supply will not come for people to power up their phones. I mean everything will just be full of ups and downs.

And if digital currency is to be operated, then cyber crimes will increase too. An alternative to hacking people's accounts will com,e, and it will not be nice at all.

I remembered the last cashless policy we had; it wasn't funny at all. We saw old, sick, and a whole lot of people who weren't supposed to be outside because of their health conditions. I ended up seeing them in the queue because of money.

Therefore, there should be a balance, and it is the best option. The government should continue to encourage digital payment and cash payment because of our elderly, and they shouldn't eliminate them completely. Both should be operated fairly.

Cashless societies are a way to control people. Even now, in order to withdraw cash (your money) from a Bank, you have to give the reason to what the purchase you need this cash for. Worse, some banks now will not issue cash through it's own tellers from any of its branches. Governments will make this happen (eventually).

This is why Crypto is more relevant today as it ever will be.

  • with Cash, you can barter.
  • with Crypto, you can barter.

You want to sell 1 banana for 10 Foodie HE tokens? I'm happy to send you 10 Foodie HE tokens, sent to your wallet, awaiting delivery. I don't need to explain my reasons to any bank or Government!

Exactly, it's just a way to control people. If both can be utilized perfectly, then there will be no problem.

Thank you for the tokens sent to me. I appreciate.

Ty he government is just looking for a way to control people.
