Greetings, everyone!
I am so delighted to be part of this great contest to share my opinion about this topic.

First, I would say that self-driving cars are not perfectly made, and it is temporary; anything that is done by human hands doesn't last, meaning it will get spoiled, overused, and at some point it will wear out. Just like human beings get tired of driving a car.
A lot of questions ran through my mind when I saw this contest. Does this car perform properly? Is it properly regulated, does it have guardrails? Is it well manufactured?
I have never seen this type of car before, even if I saw it physically, I would want it to be tested for long-distance driving before I enter. Hmmm! Wonders will never cease. I'm waiting for the time when I will see the self-driving cars.
Do I support the self-driving cars becoming mainstream in our society?
Hmmm, if human drivers do have accidents on the road that take lives away, then self-driving cars will do the same. Human drivers are not perfect, and self-driving cars are not perfect either. Definitely, there will be accidents and other terrible things happening.
To the question, do I support self-driving cars, yes, we are in the world of technology where things are revolving around every day. New inventors, new technology emerges to make life easier for people to navigate through. I would support the mainstream in our society when it is properly regulated and maintained. Most times, humans get exhausted, drunk, distracted by their phones, calls while driving which causes accidents on the road that destroy lives and properties.
Moreover, access to young, and old people to travel to far and near places they wish to be, especially when they can't drive or don't know how to drive.
Like me who doesn't know how to drive, can purchase it and it will take me to where I want to go without arguing or disturbing my driver.
I would like to see the self-driving cars become mainstream in our society and see how it goes. Life is about taking risks.
Another thought that came to mind is that, if self-driving takes over, what do you think happens to human drivers who are earning a living through it could do. Is that not a big disruption of a job opportunity? Those drivers moving people to far distances, would actually break down financially.
What are the ways such things go wrong?
This is where trouble pops up, because AI is not perfect. Self-driving cars can go wrong in so many ways if they're not properly used. What if rain fails? Do they have the capacity to recognize rain, dust, and all that?
If an accident occurs, who is responsible for it?
To me both the owner and the manufacturer. The owner is supposed to assist the car in some things, not all things, the self-driving car will know. The assistant needs to be available. No maintenance, no updates, and negligence.
For the manufacturer, software may have some defects that were not well fixed, which could cause a problem.
