Para mi primer post con ustedes me costó elegir el libro del que quiero hablar, ya que tengo unos cuantos y he perdido la cuenta de cuántas veces los he leído. Sin embargo, al final me decidí por Veronika Decide Morir de Paulo Coelho.

For my first post with you, it was hard to choose which book to talk about, as I have quite a few and have lost count of how many times I've read them. However, in the end, I decided on Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho.

Mi tía es muy fan de este autor en específico, ella tiene una gran colección de libros de Coelho y los ha leído todos, al igual que yo más de una vez. Y es que este autor tiene un no sé qué que invita a leer sus novelas en más de una ocasión y cada una de ellas te enseña algo diferente.

My aunt is a huge fan of this author in particular. She has a large collection of Coelho books and has read them all, just as I have more than once. There's something about this author that invites you to read his novels more than once, and each one teaches you something different.
Pero este libro me lo compré yo hace algunos años. Conocí a Coelho por mi tía. Ella me recomendó unos cuantos títulos de él y como ella ya tenía su colección, quise seguir sus pasos, pero en esa ocasión, cuando adquirí este libro que fue por allá en el 2005, lo elegí por su título y el color de su portada.
But I bought this book a few years ago. I was introduced to Coelho by my aunt. She recommended a few of his titles to me, and since she already had his collection, I wanted to follow in his footsteps. But on that occasion, when I bought this book back in 2005, I chose it because of its title and the color of its cover.
Y bueno, la historia gira en torno a Veronika, quien, como dice el título, decide morir 🤣. De hecho fue por eso que lo leí, porque al igual que ella estaba en mi búsqueda de salvación personal y leer sobre alguien que decidiera morir me resultaba altamente interesante.
Well, the story revolves around Veronika, who, as the title says, decides to die 🤣. In fact, that's why I read it, because, like her, I was on a quest for personal salvation, and reading about someone who decided to die was highly interesting to me.
Así que conocer su historia me daría perspectiva de qué era lo que buscaba realmente. Sin embargo, ella decidió morir porque su vida era monótona, no le faltaba pasión y cada día le parecía igual al anterior sin ningún cambio aparente. So, knowing her story would give me perspective on what she was really looking for. However, she decided to die because her life was monotonous, she lacked passion, and every day seemed the same as the one before, with no apparent change. It wasn't because she was depressed or immensely sad. Her life had simply lost meaning and purpose.
Y al entrar en el psiquiátrico fue que ella se encontró a sí misma. La historia narrada por Coelho te lleva de la mano a la evolución de su personaje principal, quien a través de la "locura" encuentra su libertad y su pasión por la vida, esa chispa que le faltaba y que le da algo por lo cual seguir luchando.
And it was upon entering the psychiatric hospital that she found herself. Coelho's story takes you through the evolution of its main character, who, through "madness," finds her freedom and passion for life, that spark she was missing, and that gives her something to keep fighting for.
A mí me resultó una historia muy bonita, además tiene un toque romántico y lo mejor de todo es la trama de superación que conlleva con cada capítulo que lees. Ciertamente es una enseñanza de vida que vale la pena leer más de una vez.
I found it to be a very beautiful story. It also has a romantic touch, and the best part is the overcoming plot that accompanies each chapter. It's certainly a life lesson worth reading more than once.
También me agrada mucho la forma en la que Coelho redacta y desarrolla el tema religioso en sus libros. Es como escribir de una manera filosófica sobre la vida, guardando respeto por la religión católica y cualquier otra religión.
I also really like the way Coelho writes and develops religious themes in his books. It's like writing philosophically about life, while respecting the Catholic faith and any other religion.
Ciertamente es un escritor de mente abierta con una imaginación profunda que te invita a meterse en su mente para trasladarse a otro universo donde la vida es hermosa y las enseñanzas están a la vuelta de la esquina para ser la mejor persona del mundo.
He is certainly an open-minded writer with a deep imagination that invites you to enter his mind and travel to another universe where life is beautiful and lessons are just around the corner to be the best person in the world.
Este libro me lo he leído ya como tres veces y luego de armarles este post, le daré una nueva oportunidad porque leí la primera página y ya me enganchó. Así que de mi parte le otorgo sus cinco estrellas completas y lo recomiendo a todo el que disfrute de los libros de este autor brasileño.
I've read this book about three times now, and after writing this post, I'll give it another chance because I read the first page and was already hooked. So, I give it a full five stars and recommend it to anyone who enjoys this Brazilian author's books.
