Warm greetings, dear friends! I hope you're having a wonderful day. I'm back, as usual, with a new story. Today's is about a character named Hetty. She's a girl who can't play music, but she loves it nonetheless. The question is how she manages to change that, and if she ever does. As always, you'll find out in the story. I hope you enjoy it. With that said, it's time to begin. Buckle up, because here we go!

Esta de hoy será sobre un personaje llamado Hetty. Ella es una chica que no sabe tocar música pero que sin embargo le encanta. La cuestión es cómo logra cambiar eso y si logra tocarla. Eso amigos como siempre lo descubrirán en la historia. Espero como siempre que les guste. Dicho esto es hora de comenzar, abróchense los cinturones que esto arranca ahora.

Even before she was born, Hetty's life and the world around her were filled with music. Her father owned a music shop, and it was common for the house to be full of instruments that were later taken to the store. Sometimes musicians would come to buy instruments directly from the house, so Hetty grew up watching them practice. Her own father would sometimes play at night to test that the equipment was of the highest quality for the customers. So, from a young age, she was surrounded by these things. When she was old enough, her father took her to work at the music shop.

She worked as an accountant and cashier, handling payments for customers. Here, she had even more opportunities to see musicians practicing or testing instruments before buying them. The shop also sold sheet music books and even books with musical concepts for learning to play. So, in addition to selling instruments, she learned the basics of music alongside her father. Later in life, her father got very old, so he left the shop to her, as she was his only daughter, so she had to keep the business going.

Incluso antes de nacer ya la vida y el mundo que rodeaban a Hetty estaban llenos de música. Su padre tenía un negocio de venta de instrumentos y era muy normal que la casa estuviera llena de instrumentos que luego se iban llevando para tienda. A veces venían músicos a comprar instrumentos directamente en la casa, así que Hetty fue creciendo viendo a esos músicos practicar. Así además de vender instrumentos ella fue aprendiendo lo básico de la música junto a su padre. Más tarde en la vida su padre se hizo muy mayor así que le dejó la tienda a ella que era la única hija, así que ella tuvo que sacar adelante el negocio.

But she had a problem: she didn't know how to play any instrument. She only knew the theory, and everything was written down. So when a customer wanted her to talk to them and try something they wanted to buy, she could only explain what it was, but she couldn't actually play it herself. So she had to hire other musicians to try out the instruments she sold. This embarrassed her because the owner of a shop like this was supposed to at least know how to play an instrument. Many times, the laughter she shared with customers ended in embarrassment for her. And she felt sad about it. She had tried to learn before, but she found it too complex and difficult.

So, since she was so busy attending to other things, she kept putting it off, and then putting it off again, and so time passed. Her father, although older, urged her to learn a little because it was necessary for the business. But Hetty still couldn't make up her mind. Just thinking about how complex it was and everything she had to learn diminished her desire. So she simply kept postponing it endlessly. And so it would have continued if what happened hadn't happened. One day a trumpet player wanted to buy a trumpet; this trumpet player worked in a major orchestra.

Pero ella tenía un problema no sabía tocar ningún instrumento, solo conocía la teoría y todo en texto. Así que cuando un cliente quería que se le hablara y se le probara algo que quería comprar ella solo podía explicarle de que se trataba pero no podía probarlo. Así que tenía que contratar a otros músicos para que probaran los instrumentos que ella misma vendía. Esto la avergonzaba porque se suponía que la dueña de una tienda como esta al menos supiera tocar un instrumento. Y así hubiera seguido si no hubiera pasado lo que pasó. Un día un trompetista quería comprar una trompeta, este trompetista trabajaba en una orquesta importante.

He asked for a demonstration with several trumpets to see which one was best to buy. So he asked the manager, Hetty, to give him a test. But she didn't know how, so she called the store's expert trumpet player, but he couldn't come. He was very sick. So she explained to the trumpet player that she couldn't test the trumpets because she didn't know how and their expert couldn't come. This upset the trumpet player a lot because he had an important order for the orchestra and they had wasted his time. So he told her he would write a negative review of the store and left in a huff.

This embarrassed Hetty a lot, and she realized that this was now affecting her financially as well, since her business was going to suffer because she wasn't learning. So after thinking it over, she decided she was going to learn. She started taking music lessons, and with what she had already learned as a child, she was able to master some instruments in about six months. Obviously, she won't be able to master them all, but she will do her best to learn as much as she can. The interesting thing is that she learned two things in the process: it's not as difficult as she thought, and she already had some prior knowledge; she just hadn't set out to do it. Secondly, she loved playing them. Without intending to, she opened a new door. Nobody knows, but perhaps in the future she could be an instrumentalist in an orchestra.

Sometimes work itself opens doors you didn't even know existed; you just have to explore a little beyond what you think is difficult. Hetty will continue working hard for the business, but who knows if she'll achieve something more. Go play, Hetty!

Pidió que se le hiciera una demostración con varias trompetas para ver cual era la más adecuada para comprar. Así que le pidió a la gerente en este caso Hetty que ella le hiciera la prueba. Pero ella no sabía así que llamó al trompetista experto de la tienda, pero este no podía ir. Estaba muy enfermo. Así que le explicó al trompetista que no podía probarle las trompetas porque ella no sabía como hacerlo y su experto no podía venir. Eso molestó mucho al trompetista, porque el queria un pedido importante para la orquesta y le habían hecho perder el tiempo. Así que le dijo que haría una critica negativa sobre el negocio. Esto avergonzó mucho Hetty y vió que ahora esto la estaba afectando también económicamente, pues su negocio se iba a afectar por ella no aprender. Así que luego de pensarlo decidió que iba a aprender. Comenzó a tomar cursos de música y con lo que ya había aprendido de niña pudo dominar algunos instrumentos en alrededor de 6 meses. Es obvio que no podrá dominarlos todos pero hará lo posible por aprender todo lo que pueda. Lo interesante es que en el proceso aprendió dos cosas, no es tan difícil como en realidad pensaba y ya ella tenía conocimiento previo era solo que no se lo había propuesto y lo segundo le encantaba tocarlos. Sin querer abrió una nueva puerta, nadie lo sabe pero ella quizás en el futuro pueda ser una instrumentista de una orquesta.

El mismo trabajo a veces te abre puertas que ni conoces, solo tienes que explorar un poco más allá de lo que piensas que es difícil. Hetty se seguirá esforzando por el negocio, pero quien sabe si logre algo más. A tocar Hetty.
