Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "Contact Sports," so let's dive into it.

We all know that contact sports like football, boxing, and wrestling are exciting to watch and play. These sports are intense and competitive, but they involve a lot of physical interaction, which makes the sports very risky. People who engage in these sports often get hurt, sometimes with small injuries like cuts and bruises and other times with serious injuries like sprains or broken bones, just to satisfy their fans and make them happy.

So why are contact sports dangerous?

The word "contact" means the players or participants of the game physically touch each other during the sport. For example

In football, players always tackle each other to get the ball to win, which sometimes leads to injuries.

In boxing, opponents always punch each other to win, which sometimes leads to injuries.

In wrestling, opponents always grab or hold onto each other to gain control so that they can win, which sometimes leads to injuries.

This physical or contact interaction is what makes the game exciting, but it also means there's a high chance of injuries; sometimes these injuries can be a sprain or a bruise, like I mentioned earlier.

Do I feel this should be regulated to make it safe?

Yes, I feel contact sports should be regulated to make them safe.

Why should contact sports be regulated?

Contact sports like football, boxing, and wrestling are naturally risky because they involve a lot of physical engagement. Players who engage in contact sports always tackle, punch, or even collide with each other, which often leads to them getting injuries. Without proper rules or safety, the risk of getting serious injuries increases. That's why regulations are very important to protect players and keep the sport safe without losing its excitement.

Sometimes, when I watch football or boxing, I feel sad for the players because of how they often get injured especially in boxing if the players are punching each other. I often ask myself, Why do these players continue to play contact sports when they know it’s so risky and dangerous?

How can contact sports be made safe?

(1) They should improve protection gear, such as helmets, pads, or even gloves, so that it can reduce the impact of hits and prevent serious injuries.

(2) They should lay down strict rules that won't lead to dangerous moves such as headbutts, high tackles, etc., and any players who break such rules should face the penalties or consequences.

(3) They should ensure that while playing the game, medical professionals will be available that will treat their injuries quickly and properly so that they won't be infected.

Or is it all as good as they currently are?

Some people think that contact sports are fine the way they are, as the risks like injuries, etc., are part of what make the sport interesting and competitive, while others believe that they should make these sports safer by adding good protective gear or stricter rules, like punishing any players who did any rough or dangerous moves, so that it could help protect players while keeping the games exciting or fun.

In conclusion, contact sports are exciting, as I mentioned earlier, but they can also be dangerous. It's important to find a way to keep players safe without taking away the fun and excitement of the game. Whether the current rules are enough or need to change depends on how much we care about protecting the players while still keeping the sports enjoyable.
