Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are well. I want to tell you about a food that I will never forget. A traditional food from one of the provinces in Indonesia, precisely in Aceh. I went to Aceh in 2023, at that time I had an office assignment.

One of our offices went there, maybe we were in Aceh for about two weeks. I have posted some activities and other foods and places. What are these foods?

Acehnese specialties are different from Javanese food, Acehnese specialties add a lot of coconut milk and strong spices. Unlike Javanese specialties, the spices are not too strong. You need a lot of rice if you eat Acehnese specialties.

At that time, you visited a tourist village and we were greeted with Acehnese specialties. I find it hard to forget this food. However, this food is hard to find in Jakarta. What are these foods?

First, there is Acehnese specialties but with the addition of a kind of vegetable. This is very delicious, the vegetables can distract from the taste of meat that is full of fat. The second is Gohu Udang which is made from chopped boiled shrimp, then added with chopped spices. Then mixed. There is a little sour taste from this food.

Third, Ureueng Gampong. This is a typical Acehnese urap made from local leaves typical of Aceh. I think there are young papaya leaves. Kenikir leaves and sweet potato shoots. Added with roasted coconut. This food tastes sour, maybe added with a little sunti acid. The taste is spicy, sour and savory.

Fourth is Keumamah stir-fried green chili. This is a type of tuna fish that is boiled then added with typical Acehnese spices. I want to try this food again. However, I don't have many friends from Aceh in Jakarta.

The last food is Pelale. This looks like a typical Acehnese omelette, but it's not fried. This food is eggs, given finely chopped spices, added fish then covered with leaves and boiled. Oh yeah, there is a little grated coconut in this food. This is very delicious.

Every time I visit a number of places in Indonesia, there is no food that I don't like. I like everything and it tastes good. Except, food that contains blood or pork I can't eat. There are several other areas that I want to visit. And I want to try the traditional food of that place.

Wow! All foods look delicious and yummy. Indonesia looks like they have delicious food indeed. Have a great day

Yes, Indonesia has quite a lot of delicious food. Thank you for stopping by

Eating traditional dishes is another way to learn a place's food culture and available food resources. Food wrapped in leaves looks very authentic. I'm curious about the Pelale dish. I'm sure your visit at this place was exciting as you also got to eat their traditional dishes.

I'm still looking for palela in Jakarta. But, I also hope to go to Aceh again so I can enjoy this food.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.
