Hello friends on Liketu community and all participants in the hivearoundtheworld challenge, it's been a very beautiful Sunday. Hope we all went to church or our various places of worship.
I'm here again in the hivearoundtheworld challenge. Today's Day 6 and I'll be describing my favourite street food ( Akara balls).
Talking about street foods, we have varieties ranging from suya meat, fried potatoes with sauce, fried yam with sauce, bole(roasted plantain), it could be ripe or unripe plantain, fried ripe plantain (dodo) with sauce, puff puff, small chops etc etc
Time would fail me to begin to write in details on each of these street foods due to tiredness hence I pick just Akara balls to give brief details.
Akara balls or bean cake as known by some is prepared from beans and it's highly proteinous.
HOW TO PREPARE AKARA BALLS
Select the beans, soak in water for some minutes, scrub to separate the chaff, filter and grind the beans. After grinding, put the grinded beans in mortar and use pestle to smoothen the paste for frying.
N/B: When grinding the beans add fresh pepper 🫑🌶️, onions etc.
Put your pot on fire, pour in your vegetable oil when hot. Ensure the oil is hot, put your beans paste from the mortar into the hot oil, fry by turning until it's ready.
Your Akara balls can be eaten with sauce, pap or bread..
In conclusion, street foods and snacks serves a whole lot of time than preparing it yourself at home.
Hope you love street food as much as I do.
Till I come your way tomorrow for the concluding part of this challenge being the 7th day, it's bye from me.
I challenge my friends @ogechukwu-martha, @chydolar1, @ijelady, @oasiskp2 to show a slice of their world in the #hivearoundtheworld.
