A topic close to my heart. My daughters had some good experiences at school and some lovely teachers too at times (some not so good one as well sadly). Unfortunately the school system didn't help them to thrive and we were lucky enough to be able to homeschool.
I believe the time to change school arrived a long time ago.
I think it really did. For a few generations now we have been saying it no longer serves our children like it used to. It's one size fits all and often ties the hands of the teachers within the system. Everyone is different and learns differently. My eldest is finishing her masters degree in genetics and will move to our neighbouring state to do her PhD. My youngest hated academic work and is doing an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering. She does the maths she used to dislike and because she can apply it she doesn't even mind it any more. She still dislikes the weeks where she has to go into college and would rather learn it all in the workplace. 🤣 If only our schools could allow our children to learn how they learn best, whether it be academic or hands on.
