Reflecting On The Complexities Of Online Friendship and Physical Friendship

in Hive Learners13 days ago

If I were asked which I prefer between physical friendships and online friendships, I would say online friendships, because we don't get to see each other's flaws. We often share our thoughts without considering the person's expression towards us, but in all we do, we still need physical friendships; friendships should not be limited to online interactions, as they have certain benefits that are not available online.

I have had friends online that we speak with from different countries, we are very close, we talk more often, but nothing beats physical friendships. I prefer online for a while, but not for long, because I know how I will get distracted with other things. When the time comes, I might lose interest, so nothing beats physical presence.

Online friends sometimes can be true and sometimes can be false, and I mean when it is true, it is very sincere, and when it is false, it is fake. I have met friends online that understands me and right now we are closest of friend at the moment now.

My best friends, it's been 3 years since we last saw each other, but we still communicate and support each other every time we need each other's help or support. This is not just online friendships, it's a real friendship.

My problem with online friendship is that when we have not met each other, how can we trust each other? It might seem difficult to trust. Even though you trust the person but it will be to a certain extent. Life is a free world, and we get to achieve things we strive to attain, but we can't do it on our own; we need support from friends, family and new people.

One thing is certain, which I know for sure, is that there are good people too online, I know for sure, and they are limited to so many friends out there. My only problem with online friendships is that I need to see who I am dealing with, who I am communicating with also.

I once fell in love with someone online and we haven't met before, it wasn't funny then, I was so serious, because then it was during the time of 2go she was in another state and I was in a diffrient state too, we often hated every night during evening time and sometimes before we sleep, it was until my phone spiikt and I couldn't reach out to her again because I did not know her nu ber off head that I knew I lost her, since then i haven't met her till now, but even at that there where limit of things I could do for her and also thing I wish I could do, the distance was a real barrier, nothing can beat physical friendships. Online is good for advice and directions, that's why some people get lost in it, while physical is good for real friendship. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

This is my entry to Hive Learners' weekly prompt, week 191, episode 1.

I can relate it's hard to trust online friends but somehow sometimes they won our trust.

I saw many other people too who fell in love in the online world when they were impressed by their word's 🙂

I know, it can be difficult to trust online friendship especially in this era of impersonation on social media but then, even offline friendship is also not harmless. We can't really say that all the friends we have offline are of good intentions, everything falls down to our ability to filter bad eggs before making any attempt of friendship.
