Es común ver en las antiguas villas españolas esta forma de intersección, mostrada en la imagen del concurso. Sin embargo, considero que no solo es un legado español, creo más bien se trataba de ir adaptándose al terreno a medida que las ciudades se expandian. En Cuba son muchos los pueblos y ciudades que cuentan con este estilo arquitectónico en sus viales.
En mi experiencia personal, creo que, es la ciudad de Camaguey la que cuenta con más cantidad de calles cuchillas. Así es como en Cuba, muchos le llaman a este estilo de vías o intersección en forma de Y o V. Por cierto, hace algunos días, intencionalmente pasé por una importante intersección con esta característica.
Me refiero a la intersección ubicada en la avenida Carlos III donde convergen la Calzada de Infanta, Ayestarán y San Francisco. Dije intencionalmente, pues recorrí a pie la avenida Carlos III con el objetivo de tomar algunas fotos de construcción ubicada en esa crucial avenida habanera.
Hoy tomo dos de las fotos que publiqué ese día y las comparto nuevamente, la primera corresponde al extremo que colinda con Ayestarán y la Segunda con San Francisco al lado opuesto.
Por otro lado, de los demás detalles de la foto del concurso, de más está decir que me encanta caminar.
Lo dejé claro cuando les conté que recorrí a pie toda la avenida Carlos III y lo hice con mucho placer. Para la mayoría de los habaneros caminar varias cuadras es un castigo o tormento. Pero yo tengo sangre oriental; aunque vengo del llano, allí igual que en las montañas, todo está cerca. Nadie te dice la distancia, ni en kilómetros ni en cuadras. De pequeños, los adultos nos enseñan a caminar y caminar je, je, je.
