At noon when the sun is directly overhead nature is bathed in a different light On such an afternoon my camera captured a small simple yet incredibly beautiful flower. The name of this flower is Bidens pilosa. In Bengali many people also call it grass flower or small daisy Although it is lightly seen on the side of our path or among the grass in the field its simple beauty touches the heart When I first saw the flower I was walking along a narrow path in the village Suddenly this flower filled with white petals and a yellow center stood out among the green leaves It seemed as if nature had painted a symbol of peace in the crowd of so many dark green leaves The structure of the flower is very simple Five or six white petals surround a bright yellow center The edges of the petals are slightly torn which makes the flower more attractive This flower usually grows on the side of bushes or in wastelands. Many people mistake it for a weed but in fact it is also known as a medicinal plant.
When I capture the flower in the afternoon light its beauty doubles The sunlight falls on the white petals and creates a kind of brightness. Standing on the dark green ground this small flower is like a silent poem of nature In the picture I took I can see some more buds on all sides of the flower. Which means that this plant is still alive growing and will bloom more flowers It is a symbol of life where new buds mean a message of hope. These simple messages of nature are often lost in our daily busy lives At such a moment such pictures make us stop and think. The greatest beauty of photography is that it teaches us to see even ordinary things with new eyes If someone sees this flower on a busy street of a city they may turn their eyes away but when I capture it in the frame with a camera its color structure yield to light everything together reveals a unique beauty.
I took this picture with a Vivo Y77 mobile camera Technology has now become so accessible that anyone can capture nature in their own way. Especially in the afternoon light the colors and details of the mobile camera come out quite clearly. I did not do any artificial editing while taking the picture because I wanted the natural beauty of the flower to remain intact. This flower is not only a pleasure for the eyes but also beneficial for the environment It attracts bees and other insects and spiders through pollination thus protecting biodiversity In addition its medicinal properties are used in many places Especially in Ayurvedic medicine Finally I will say that the small things in nature calm our minds and give us temporary relief from our busyness This flower is a unique example of that When such a flower appears on the path of walking alone in the afternoon light life is seen in a new way This small experience of mine may inspire many more to love nature take care of it and take time to capture it on camera.
