In the half way mark of this season I went ahead and spent my Glint on batch 1 common rewards. I was able to purchase 300 reward cards.
The following cards I was able to level up.

Not much in leveling but any improvement is better than none. I will still need to save up an additional 15000 Glint before season ends to buy out the first batch of commons. I hope to complete this asap so I can move on to focus on epics.
In terms of gameplay with the upgraded commons I have seen decent improvement. In about three seasons now I am staying in diamond league longer and maintaining reasonable win rates. My earnings in battles is enough motivation for me to continue this process until either I collect sufficient amount of reward cards or I move up to the ever elusive Champion league.
I am trying to post to keep track of my slow but steady progress. Yesterday was Gladius cards and today more rewards. The price of Hive falling is dragging down DEC prices which in turn is making open market cards more expensive. Therefore I am holding off on purchasing cards but accumulating DEC more likely to be converted to Hive. The plan would be to accumulate Hive and hope to rise the next price wave up and be able to swap into more DEC and use to build out my Splinterland deck. I have been doing this way back in the beginning of my early Splinterlands day. Take advantage of the asset price volitility.
