Today, I'm back with a new photoshoot I did in my studio! This time, it was for a client who wanted some photos for her social media. She arrived at the studio accompanied by her boyfriend, so we started by taking a couple of photos of them together:

I began with some full body shots, as usual:

I guided them with the poses throughout the entire photoshoot to help them both feel more comfortable and relaxed.

For the next photos, I placed the posing cube on the set to achieve more variety in the shots:

Then they changed positions to take a photo where the boyfriend embraced her:

Once the couple photos were done, we started with the main photoshoot for the client. She wanted some non typical shots, so we tried some unconventional poses!

We took many photos that day, but here I'm only sharing the ones we liked the most!

All photos were taken with my Canon R8 camera and a 50mm f/2.8 lens.

For lighting, I used two light sources: for the main light, I used a speedlite flash with a 50 cm octabox at a 45 degree angle to the girl, and as a secondary light, I used an LED light panel behind her to create a rim light.

The next photo was the girl's favorite:

At this point, a good amount of time had passed since we started taking photos. The client told me she had brought another outfit, so she went to change her clothes for the next set of photos.

I started with a full body shot, as usual:

After seeing the first photo, we noticed that the set looked too simple for her outfit. So, I configured a new lighting scheme to give the set a POP of life, and the results were really good:

By the end of the photoshoot, both the client and I were super happy with the results. I hope you like them as much as we did!

Sort:

Whoa! How did you get the light spot so perfectly circular on the background? The light had to have been either above or to the side of your model, in which case it must have skewed slightly from the camera's perspective. I've honestly never seen this done so well before...

I'm glad you noticed it!! actually the light was from the side and yes you are right, it was a sightly skewed haha i had to correct it a little on the post production, i fixed it with adobe lightroom using masking tools

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's so clever! I never would have guessed it was adjusted in post.

But still its something that is not possible if you dont use the circular light in production, it will look weird but will work as a good base to fix in post

What I actually thought it was going to be was a snoot (adapter that goes on the light) that deliberately skews the light circle in a way that it becomes a perfect circle when you look at it straight on.

Sports stadiums do a similar thing when they paint logos on the grass. It looks very strange when you're on the ground itself, but it looks perfect from the camera view in the stadiums.
