Hello beautiful people of @Throwback Thursday, today I appeal again to nostalgia, to those photographs that are part of a very distant past, but that equally remain indelible in my soul, my mind and my heart, because they were part of beautiful stages of my life just in the moments that I enjoyed the most and that was my favorite time of the year, summer vacation. For those who do not know, in Venezuela we follow the European system, with school vacations between July and August, returning to classes in September. This was my favorite time of the year not only because it was my time of rest but also because at home we received the visit of my cousins who came from the state of Zulia, and this guaranteed me full days of fun and happiness, as when we went to the river.
Hola gente hermosa del @Throwback Thursday, hoy apelo nuevamente a la nostalgia, a esas fotografías que forman parte de un pasado muy lejano, pero que igualmente permanecen indelebles en mi alma, mi mente y mi corazón, porque formaron parte de etapas hermosas de mi vida justo en los instantes que yo más disfrutaba y que era mi época favorita del año, las vacaciones de verano. Para los que no lo saben, en Venezuela nos regimos por el sistema europeo, con vacaciones escolares entre julio y agosto, retornando a clases en septiembre. Esta era mi época del año favorita no solo porque era mi época de descanso sino porque en casa recibíamos la visita de mis primos que venían del estado Zulia, y esto me garantizaba días completos de diversión y felicidad, como cuando íbamos al río
There you can see me (just below the red arrow) at this point I am very surprised to see how we could fit seven people in that river well, but of course, we were very small, I for example was only eight years old and my cousins who are behind me and were the oldest were only 10. A few years ago I returned to that place and I got so nostalgic, I was also surprised to discover that it was just a stream, I do not know if it was dry season or if my perception of the size of that place changed after I grew up but I remember it as a huge place.
Ahí pueden verme ustedes (justo debajo de la flecha roja) a estas alturas me sorprende muchísimo ver como podíamos caber siete personas en ese pozo del río, pero claro, éramos muy pequeños, yo por ejemplo solo tenía ocho años y mis primas que están detrás de mi y eran las mayores tenían solo 10. Hace unos año regresé a ese lugar y me di tanta nostalgia, también me sorprendió descubrir que no era más que un arrollo, no sé si era época de sequía o si mi percepción del tamaño de ese lugar cambio luego de crecer pero lo recuerdo como un lugar enorme
When I became a teenager, after spending the holidays here in Valencia, my uncles took me with them to Zulia to spend the rest of the holidays. I have very valuable memories of those times, like when I went with my cousins to the city of Maracaibo (the capital of the state) they lived in Cabimas but it was nearby, so we did not miss the opportunity to visit the capital of the state where there were many more options to have fun such as the cinema and of course the shopping centers, that is how we arrived at Galerías, one of the best shopping centers of that time since it had a huge ice skating rink right in the middle, and of course we wanted to live the experience, but I didn't. I enjoyed it at all because, even though I knew how to skate very well on inline skates, I had 0 experience skating on ice, it was extremely slippery and I was afraid of falling and hurting myself, so I spent almost the entire day holding on to the rails. 😄
Cuando llegué a la adolescencia, luego de pasar las vacaciones aquí en Valencia, mis tíos me llevaban con ellos al Zulia a pasar lo que quedaba de las vacaciones. De esos tiempos tengo recuerdos muy valiosos, como cuando iba con mis primas a la ciudad de Maracaibo (la capital del estado) ellas vivían en Cabimas pero era cerca, así que no perdíamos oportunidad de visitar la capital del estado donde había muchas más opciones para divertirse como el cine y desde luego los centros comerciales, fue así como llegamos a Galerías, uno de los mejores centros comerciales de esa época ya que tenía justo en el medio una enorme pista de patinaje sobre hielo, y desde luego nosotras quisimos vivir la experiencia, pero yo no lo disfruté en lo absoluto porque, a pesar de que yo sabía patinar muy bien con patines en línea, yo tenía 0 experiencia patinando sobre hielo, era extremadamente resbaloso y yo temía caerme y lastimarme, así que pasé casi toda la jornada sujetándome de los barandales 😄.
I will never forget those years, when I was madly in love with the Backstreet Boys 😍😄 and dreamed of going to one of their concerts, when we had hours of fun having sleepovers or pranking on the phone 😅. Anyway, this was a very nostalgic but at the same time very beautiful #TBT for me, thank you for being part of it through reading, see you next Thursday God willing.
Jamás olvidaré esos años, cuando estaba locamente enamorada de los Backstreet Boys 😍😄 y soñaba con ir a uno de sus conciertos, cuando pasábamos horas de diversión haciendo pijamadas o bromas por teléfono 😅. En fin, este fue un #TBT muy nostálgico pero a la vez muy bonito para mi, gracias por formar parte de él a través de la lectura, nos vemos el próximo jueves Dios mediante.
