I'm taking it personal 😂 Growing up in a chaotic household definitely shaped how I handle emotions today. I'm surprised just how much those early family patterns stick with you into adulthood.

Me too @madaug. There was no method to the madness in a family of six children. Wasn't enough hours in the day to attend to each child's emotional needs or show affection between adults and toward children. That's not to say all families exhibit this because I believe it's possible.
Thanks so much for your visit and input for the question. I appreciate it. Take care.

You know, it doesn't even have to be a true hostile environment. Just dysfunctional. And there are numerous types of dysfunction that may be allowed to happen and continue. Sometimes people aren't aware their behaviors are atypical and detrimental.
