I cannot believe what I saw on YouTube, but apparently, Bill Gates is planning to donate nearly all his money and a big portion is going to Africa. As an African I'm very happy to hear that and yes all Africans would be extremely grateful.
This shocked me a lot. The man could be sitting on somewhere around $200 billion, so that much money to help people in desperate need is a really good thing for the entire continent. God bless Bill Gates.
I see him to be one of the most benevolent men in the world. For me, that is worth more than any achievement a man can have. The money is supposed to be spent on spend on health and education in Africa for the next 20 years. Of course that's a really long time and I wish it could happen sooner but development and progress of the magnitude would take time.
This is not something I expected to happen at all. While some people buy islands or even rockets that fly into space, a kinder, gentler Bill Gates uses his money to help mothers even before telling them he's going to do it.
He’s saying the entire nation should be able to prosper if the kids and mothers are healthy, which does seem to hold some truth and he’s definitely trying to plant the seeds for the future.

Bill Gates talked about how AI could be used in the health care sector. I am not an AI expect so that was new for me. I've read a few articles on AI and I see how it has been painted as a bad thing. People talk about The data being used to train AI as stolen, the Music industry has musicians angry at AI music generators and a lot of communities I enter have very rigid rules against the use of AI. It is almost treated like drug abuse on those platforms.
But hearing him talk about how it can help mothers and even save lives gave me a another perspective. It is so good to note that Rwanda has already advanced in this regard.
The one thing that really got to me was when he stated that people will say a lot of things when he dies. The only thing he doesn't want them to say is that he died rich. This is powerful statement and you don’t hear billionaires say that. Becoming a billionaire is not a straightforward process and it's not a financial formula you can just apply. So when someone becomes a billionaire they tend to cringe to their wealth but not Bill Gates.
Not everybody has something good to say about his philanthropic behavior. Some say he uses his foundation as a means to conceal taxes. And yes, it gives him a lot of influence. Perhaps that could be the case, perhaps he could also be genuine. Regardless of the truth, in my opinion, if he achieves half of what he has promised, millions of lives will be saved. With that kind of influence, I am good.
