¡Hola a todos! Hoy quiero llevarlos de la mano a un rincón mágico de la Habana Vieja que me robó el corazón. Para llegar a este lugar, solo hay que atravesar la majestuosa Plaza de la Catedral. Aunque suele pasar desapercibido, pues se esconde discretamente, les aseguro que merece la pena buscarlo ¡Bienvenidos al Callejón del Chorro!
This small alley is a hidden treasure that houses a varied gastronomic offer. One next to the other, there are culinary centers, each with its own personality and charm. I confess that I did not stop to try anything, as I had just enjoyed a delicious snack at the Café Literario, located very close by. But, don't worry! I promised myself to return to delight my palate with its exquisite dishes.
What attracted me most to this alley is its diversity. If you go in a group, you will surely find something for all tastes and cravings. The variety of options is impressive and the atmosphere is simply charming. You can choose to sit on the terraces of the establishments and let yourself be enveloped by the bustle of the city, or take refuge in the interiors, which offer a more intimate and welcoming atmosphere.
Este pequeño callejón es un tesoro escondido que alberga una variada oferta gastronómica. Uno al lado del otro, se suceden centros culinarios, cada uno con su propia personalidad y encanto. Confieso que no me detuve a probar nada, pues acababa de disfrutar de una deliciosa merienda en el Café Literario, situado muy cerca. Pero, ¡no os preocupéis!, me prometí volver a deleitar mi paladar con sus exquisitos platos.
Lo que más me atrajo de este callejón es su diversidad. Si vas en grupo, seguro que encontrán algo para todos los gustos y antojos. La variedad de opciones es impresionante y el ambiente es sencillamente encantador. Puedes optar por sentarte en las terrazas de los establecimientos y dejarte envolver por el bullicio de la ciudad, o refugiarte en los interiores, que ofrecen un ambiente más íntimo y acogedor.
However, my main objective was to visit the Taller Experimental de Gráfica de La Habana, which is located at the back. I had heard wonders about this place, not only because of the workshop itself, but also because it houses an exhibition hall with exceptional works by Cuban artists. That was my main reason for entering this alley!
As I crossed this picturesque alley, I found myself facing the imposing façade of the Taller, whose doors were wide open, inviting me to enter.
Sin embargo, mi principal objetivo era visitar el Taller Experimental de Gráfica de La Habana, que se encuentra al fondo. Había oído maravillas sobre este lugar, no solo por el taller en sí, sino también porque alberga una sala de exposiciones con obras excepcionales de artistas cubanos. ¡Esa fue mi principal razón para adentrarme en este callejón!
Al cruzar este pintoresco callejón, me encontré de frente con la imponente fachada del Taller, cuyas puertas estaban abiertas de par en par, invitándome a entrar.
The workshop has a large room dedicated to printing, with space for more than ten presses. As I was told, specialized courses in graphics are taught there, exploring its procedures, development and incorporation of new techniques and media for graphic design. A true hotbed of talent!
El taller cuenta con una gran sala dedicada a la impresión, con espacio para más de diez prensas. Según me explicaron, allí se imparten cursos especializados en gráfica, explorando sus procedimientos, desarrollo e incorporación de nuevas técnicas y medios para el diseño gráfico. ¡Un verdadero semillero de talentos!
In the anteroom of the workshop you come across a gallery that functions as a showcase to promote and market the works of the masters who have left their mark on the Workshop and the graduates of its courses. Among its associates, there are plastic artists, designers, photographers and visual arts students, which guarantees diversity of styles and perspectives.
En la antesala del taller te topas con una galería que funciona como vitrina para promocionar y comercializar las obras de los maestros que han dejado su huella en el Taller y de los egresados de sus cursos. Entre sus asociados, hay artistas plásticos, diseñadores, fotógrafos y estudiantes de artes visuales, lo que garantiza diversidad de estilos y perspectivas.
I lost myself in the gallery, carefully contemplating each work. I spent a good while absorbed, appreciating every detail and letting myself be carried away by the emotions they conveyed. Exhibition centers are places that make me feel especially comfortable. I love the silence that usually reigns in these spaces, because it allows us to concentrate, appreciate the works calmly and form our own judgment about what we interpret.
Me perdí en la galería, contemplando con atención cada obra. Pasé un buen rato absorta, apreciando cada detalle y dejándome llevar por las emociones que transmitían. Los centros de exposiciones son lugares que me hacen sentir especialmente cómoda. Me encanta el silencio que suele reinar en estos espacios, porque nos permite concentrarnos, apreciar las obras con calma y formar nuestro propio juicio sobre lo que interpretamos.
At the end of my artistic tour, I passed by the Callejón again. Its picturesque charm invited me to stay a little longer, to enjoy its unique atmosphere. Without a doubt, it was an enriching walk, full of art and Cubanness.
Al finalizar mi recorrido artístico, pasé nuevamente por el Callejón. Su pintoresco encanto me invitó a quedarme un poco más, a disfrutar de su atmósfera única. Sin dudas, fue un paseo enriquecedor, lleno de arte y cubanía.
