Coptops aedificator is a species of beetle from the cerambycidae family or better known as the long-horned beetle. Several articles about the species that I have read show that Coptops aedificator is widespread in various tropical regions, especially in Asia, including Indonesia, India, Thailand and In several other Southeast Asian countries, even though the body size of Coptops aedificator is relatively small, make no mistake that Coptops aedificator has an important role in the ecosystem, especially in their natural habitat, namely wild forests.

Coptops aedificator has a body color of brown, black and a slight mixture of white with a unique pattern that decorates the beetle's body, while on the head the uniqueness is visible which cannot be denied, the Coptops aedificator beetle has very long horns, these horns are longer compared to their size. the beetle's body, from the observations I made, I assume that the long horns are used to detect the environment, when I approached the beetle it made some strange movements with its horns, from these expressions I concluded that the beetle detects the presence of predators and prey through unique long horns.

I found Coptops aedificator sitting quietly on the shoots of durian trees, while around the insect there were lots of dead trees, I wanted to know the behavior of Coptops aedificator more thoroughly, I discovered the fact that Coptops aedificator uses the color of its body to camouflage, and that is perfect behavior. remembering that the color of the beetle's body really resembles the color of the bark of a durian tree and the color of dead wood, while from another article I also found information that Coptops aedificator larvae are known as wood borers, which This means that Coptops aedificator reproduces by laying eggs in dead wood.
