My Splinterlands Journey: Playing, Buying Starter Packs, and Upgrading Cards!
On Splinterlands, during 2025, the gaming options increased because two game modes were introduced in Ranked Play: Survival Mode (February 27, 2025) and Frontier Mode (July 29, 2025).
I am an active player:
- in Modern Format
- in Survival Mode
- in the new Frontier Mode
- in Brawls
- in Land and Conflicts
After August 15, I would like to become an active player in tournaments again:
to increase my gaming activity but above all to try to win some more SPS to put into staking

In this post, I share my gaming activity and progress in Ranked Play modes, starting with the new Frontier Mode, which I am really enjoying.
My FRONTIER Game Activity and Progress
Frontier Mode was released on July 29, 2025. I started playing it immediately and I really like this format because it's fun and because it reminded me of my early days on Splinterlands when there were few cards, when there were only human players, and when the incentive to play every day was the chests that contained only cards.
Frontier Mode is a completely free-to-play game mode. In the image below, you can see my most recent battle, which I played a few minutes ago and which allowed me to claim my third daily reward.

I played almost every day, even though I missed out on some daily rewards because I didn't have the free time to unlock all the available rewards.
I'm still happy to have earned 19 daily rewards.
Today I was also very lucky because I found a legendary Foundation card in a chest: A'LAN MUSKETEER!
I hope to find two more A'LAN MUSKETEER cards in the future because at level 2 (the result of combining 3 cards), it becomes a very useful card because it can attack twice per round with a total attack of 4 (2+2) thanks to the Double Strike ability!
In the current season, I am in 540th place in the Bronze leaderboard with a win rate of just under 50%, but I hope to improve it as I increase the number of battles played and gain more experience in this fun new format.
My MODERN Game Activity and Progress
I like playing Frontier Mode, but I also like playing Modern Format because in these two formats there are only human players like me and no bots.
Playing against a bot is no fun at all for me!
In Modern Format, I play with a card collection consisting of 266 cards (owned + soulbound) = 8531 BCX = 137990 CP, which you can see here -> My Modern Cards
The Modern Format is also my main source of seasonal SPS token earnings.
In fact, in the previous season, I earned 801.58 SPS thanks to my victories in battles in the Modern Format.
I finished the previous season in 149th place on the Diamond Leaderboard with 330 battles played and 149 victories.
It wasn't a positive season in terms of win rate, so I'll be working much harder this season.
My game results should improve this season because I finally found a top-level archon at a rental price that I consider acceptable based on my personal assessment.
A few days before the end of the previous season, I rented Avina of the Wolfof the highest level.
This rental cost me 44.56 DEC per day for 17 days, for a total expense of 757.63 DEC, but I think I made the right choice because if, thanks to Avina of the Wolf, I improve my win rate, I could not only recoup the rental cost but also make an extra profit.
Now my max-level Akane has good company and won't feel lonely as a max-level summoner anymore! :)
Having two top-level summoners instead of one is already having a positive effect because my win rate this season is over 50% after 65 battles played and 34 wins.
In the next image, you can see my most recent battle won in the Modern Format, where I couldn't use Akane level 4 (= probable defeat for me) and used Avina of the Wolf
The victory in battle allowed me to earn 4.59 SPS, which is equivalent to a value of 36.77 DEC. This means that if I get two more victories per day than in the previous season using Avina of the Wolf, I will have covered the cost of renting Avina of the Wolf and will also have made a profit.
To increase the level of my Archons from the Conclave Arcana set and also to increase the level of the Conclave Arcana unit cards, I decided to focus on purchasing Starter Packs and individual cards from the market when I am close to increasing the level of my Archons.
Today I purchased 30 Starter Packs and spent 30K DEC.
Before purchasing card packs, always check whether the estimated value is higher than the purchase value in the Pack Stats section of Peakmonsters.
In the following images, you can see the 150 cards I found inside the 30 starter packs I purchased.
Thanks to the cards I found in the 30 starter packs, I was able to make the 3 card upgrades that you can see in the next images.

Thanks to the GLINT I received as an end-of-season reward, I made progress in upgrading my Rebellion Reward Soulbound cards.
At the beginning of the current season, I spent 127,500 GLINT to purchase 17 Epic Draws.
I increased the level of two of my Epic cards, including Halfling Refugee (level 4 -> level 5), which is a card I use very frequently in battles.
My SURVIVAL Game Activity and Progress
My second season in Survival Mode using XBOT was a positive season because out of 221 battles, I achieved 145 victories and received 50K GLINT as an end-of-season reward.
The current season has also started well because even though I moved from the Bronze leaderboard to the Silver leaderboard, I am in sixth place with 33 battles played and 19 wins
The seasonal gain in SPS was 263.80 SPS, but this is not my net gain because I have to deduct the XBOT fees, which are 20% of my total earnings.
I earned 211.05 SPS and XBOT earned 52.76 SPS (20% of 263.80 SPS).
My seasonal earnings in Survival Mode were lower than my seasonal earnings in Modern Format, but in Survival Mode, the time I spent was 0.
Personally, I am much more interested in playing than earning SPS using XBOT, and if it were up to me, I would completely eliminate bots from Wild Format and Survival Mode, but as long as there are bots in these formats, I will use them too, and of course only as long as I receive a profit.
I am very curious to see the effects of the card cooldown change that will be introduced tomorrow, August 5, 2025.
In fact, starting tomorrow, August 5, 2025, cards used in a lost battle in Survival Mode will enter a cooldown period only in Survival Mode, and as a result of this change, they can continue to be used in other formats, whereas now the cooldown is extended to all formats.
So, starting tomorrow, I will also be able to use archons and unit cards in Survival Mode that I previously only used in Modern Format and only enabled in Survival Mode on the last day of the season.

Il mio viaggio su Splinterlands: la mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi!
Su Splinterlands, nel corso del 2025, sono aumentate le opzioni di gioco perchè sono state introdotte due modalità di gioco nel Ranked Play: il Survival Mode (27 febbraio 2025) e il Frontier Mode (29 luglio 2025).

Dopo il 15 agosto mi piacerebbe tornare un giocatore attivo anche nei tornei:

In questo post condivido la mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nelle modalità di gioco del Ranked Play in cui gioco iniziando dal nuovo Frontier Mode in cui mi sto divertendo molto.
My FRONTIER Game Activity and Progress
Il Frontier Mode è stato rilasciato il 29 luglio 2025, ho iniziato subito a giocarci e questo formato mi piace molto perchè è divertente e perchè mi ha ricordato i miei inizi su Splinterlands quando le carte erano poche, quando c'erano solo giocatori umani e quando l'incentivo per giocare ogni giorno erano i forzieri che contenevano solo carte.
Il Frontier Mode è una modalità di gioco completamente free-to-play e nella prossima immagine puoi vedere la mia più recente battaglia che ho giocato pochi minuti fa e che mi ha permesso di fare il claim della terza ricompensa giornaliera.

Ho giocato quasi tutti i giorni anche se ho perso qualche ricompensa giornaliera perchè non ho avuto il tempo libero per giocare.
Sono comunque contento essere riuscito a guadagnare 19 ricompense giornaliere.
Oggi sono stato anche molto fortunato perchè ho trovato in 1 forziere una carta Foundation leggendaria: A'LAN MUSKETEER!
Spero di trovare in futuro altre due carte di A'LAN MUSKETEER! perchè al livello 2 (risultato della combinazione di 3 carte) diventa una carta davvero molto utile perchè può attaccare due volte per round con un attacco totale di 4 (2+2) grazie all'abilità Double Strike!
Nella stagione in corso sono nella posizione 540 nella Bronze leaderboard con un win rate leggermente inferiore al 50% ma spero di migliorarlo man mano che aumento il numero delle battaglie giocate e aumento la mia esperienza di gioco in questo divertente nuovo formato.

Mi diverto a giocare nel Frontier Mode ma mi diverto a giocare anche nel Modern Format perchè in questi due formati ci sono solo giocatori umani come me e non ci sono i bots.
Giocare contro un bot equivale a 0 divertimento per me!
Nel Modern Format gioco con una collezione di carte composta da 266 carte (owned + soulbound) = 8531 BCX = 137990 CP che puoi vedere da qui -> My Modern Cards
Il Modern Format è anche la mia principale fonte di guadagno stagionale dei token SPS.
Infatti nella stagione precedente a quella in corso ho guadagnato 801.58 SPS grazie alle mie vittorie in battaglia nel Modern Format.
Ho concluso la stagione precedente al posto 149 della Diamond Leaderboard con 330 battaglie giocate e 149 vittorie.
Non è stata una stagione positiva dal punto di vista del win rate e per questo motivo nella stagione in corso mi impegnerò molto di più.
I miei risultati di gioco dovrebbero migliorare nella stagione in corso perchè finalmente ho trovato un archon di massimo livello ad un prezzo di noleggio accettabile in base alle mie personali valutazioni.
Pochi giorni prima della fine della stagione precedente ho noleggiato Avina of the Wolf di massimo livello.
Questo noleggio mi è costato 44.56 DEC al giorno per 17 giorni per una spesa totale di 757.63 DEC ma penso di aver fatto la scelta giusta perchè se grazie ad Avina of the Wolf migliorerò il mio win rate potrei non solo recuperare il costo di noleggio ma potrei anche ottenere un guadagno in più.
Adesso il mio Akane di livello massimo ha una buona compagnia e non si sentirà più solo come evocatore di massimo livello! :)
Avere due evocatori di massimo livello invece di uno sta già producendo degli effetti positivi perchè nella stagione in corso il mio win rate è superiore al 50% dopo 65 battaglie giocate e 34 vittorie.
Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere la mia più recente battaglia vinta nel Modern Format in cui non potevo usare Akane di livello 4 (= probabile sconfitta per me) e ho usato Avina of the Wolf
La vittoria in battaglia mi ha permesso di guadagnare 4.59 SPS che equivalgono ad un valore di 36.77 DEC e questo vuol dire che se ottengo due vittorie in più al giorno rispetto alla stagione precedente utilizzando Avina of the Wolf avrò coperto il costo del noleggio di Avina of the Wolf e avrò anche ottenuto un guadagno.
Per aumentare il livello dei miei archons del set Conclave Arcana e per aumentare anche il livello delle carte unità Conclave Arcana ho deciso di focalizzarmi sull'acquisto degli Starter packs e sull'acquisto di singole carte dal mercato quando sono vicino ad aumentare il livello dei miei archons.
Oggi ho acquistato 30 Starter Packs e ho speso 30K DEC.
Prima di acquistare i pacchi di carte controllo sempre se il valore stimato è superiore al valore di acquisto nella sezione Pack Stats di Peakmonsters.
Nelle prossime immagini puoi vedere le 150 carte che ho trovato all'interno dei 30 starter packs che ho acquistato.
Grazie alle carte che ho trovato nei 30 starter packs ho potuto fare i 3 card upgrades che puoi vedere nelle prossime immagini.

Grazie ai GLINT che ho ricevuto come ricompensa di fine stagione ho fatto dei progressi nell'upgrade delle carte Rebellion Reward Soulbound.
All'inizio della stagione in corso ho speso 127500 GLINT per acquistare 17 Epic Draw.

Personalmente sono molto più interessato a giocare che a guadagnare utilizzando XBOT e se fosse per me eliminerei completamente i bots dal Wild Format e dal Survival Mode ma fin quando ci saranno i bots in questi formati li userò anche io e ovviamente solo fino a quando riceverò un guadagno.
Sono molto curioso di vedere gli effetti della modifica al cooldown delle carte che sarà introdotta domani 5 agosto 2025.
Infatti a partire da domani 5 agosto 2025 le carte utilizzate in una battaglia persa nel Survival mode entreranno in un periodo di cooldown solo nel Survival Mode e per effetto di questa modifica potranno continuare ad essere utilizzate negli altri formati mentre adesso il cooldown è esteso a tutti i formati.
Quindi da domani potrò utilizzare nel Survival Mode anche gli archons e le carte unità che fino ad oggi utilizzavo solo nel Modern Format e che abilitavo al Survival Mode solo l'ultimo giorno della stagione.
