Spread the Love: Changing Hive's Curation Approach

Hi, everyone! Viewing curation differently from mere liking has instilled a fear of curating freely. We aim to change that by encouraging organic, widespread curation.

In this clip:

We encourage curation on Threads
Spreading votes across a wide selection of accounts organically
Upvote what you like without overthinking the curation rewards
Incentives for curators are being built into the leaderboard.

The first thing new users encounter upon joining Inleo is the Threads feed. Therefore, it's crucial to feature a variety of content and authors, ensuring that Threads receive curation from a diverse range of accounts.

Curation on Hive has become overly mechanical, and we aim to reintroduce spontaneity by encouraging users to upvote content as naturally as they would 'like' it, rather than solely focusing on potential rewards.

To incentivize curators, points will be awarded on a leaderboard based on their curation activity, taking into account the individual accounts curated and the distribution over time.

Engaging to earn microearnings is an excellent method to maintain blockchain activity.

While not on Threads, I am doing more of that lately, taking the time to "like what I like" There are a lot of good authors out there sharing great content, and it's fun to run across a little gem completely by chance. Best wishes to you and your curators in your quest to spark engagement on Hive.

Uhm @khaleelkazi, did you know that your video on YouTube is set as private and therefore we can't watch it?

I assume you wanted us to see the video to better understand what your new "curation" plan is about, or am I wrong?

So, please review the attributes that the video currently has and correct the situation if the true intention was for us to watch it to better understand what the new "curation" project consists of.

Yep, now you can watch it because it no longer has the private attribute. But 6 hours before your comment, when I reported it, you couldn't do it.

this is something I was talking about in 2018, finding ways to incentivize meaningful interactions and more dynamic indicators (variety of accounts interacted with, more organic activity, etc).

Glad to see you thinking about it! I’m not crazy about leaderboards myself but as a method to increase engagement to grow a relatively small ecosystem is a great idea.
