17 June 2025 @marianwest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2770: he'll have to beg for mercy

in Freewriters11 days ago

Hello everyone I to my blog

In a country plagued by rampant kidnappings, a group of people found themselves in a desperate situation. They had been held captive in an isolated area for almost four months, with little food to sustain them. The kidnappers, motivated solely by financial gain, kept them alive in hopes of receiving a ransom. The hostages had been brainstorming ways to escape, but previous attempts had been met with failure and injury. They were too weak to overpower the kidnappers, who worked in squads and had multiple layers of security in place.

One of the hostages turned to his friend with a plan. He told his friend that he'll have to beg,"convinced that his begging skills could persuade the kidnappers to show mercy and release him. He claimed to know the right words to use and was confident that his plan would work. His friend listened skeptically, but desperation had taken hold, and they were willing to try anything.

The hostage took a deep breath and began to beg, using his most persuasive words. However, his plan fell flat. The kidnapper dismissed him with a hot slap, leaving him demoralized and defeated. Their fate now rested on the payment of the ransom or the intervention of the police and security officials. The hostages could only sit and pray, holding onto hope as their last lifeline.

As they waited, the hostages' thoughts were consumed by the uncertainty of their situation. Would their families pay the ransom, or would the authorities rescue them? The tension was palpable, and the air was thick with desperation. All they could do was hold on to hope and pray for a miracle, their lives hanging precariously in the balance.
