Saturday HiveChess S1R3: My Top 3 Favorite Games

in The Chess Community16 days ago

It’s been three weeks since we started the Saturday Hive Chess by @sam.chess. I missed last Saturday’s tournament because there was a change in the timing and I wasn't aware of that. Hive chess tournaments has helped improved my chess skills and ratings, so I don’t always like to miss them. You get paired with strong players and learn from them. At exactly 1:32 pm, I got a notification from @samostically , informing us that the chess tournament would start in about 2 hours 30 minutes from that time. I set my alarm so I wouldn't miss the tournament again. Although I lost quite a number of games (to strong players of course), I totally enjoyed participating.

Compared to previous seasons, there are more strong players. When the tournament started, I kept getting paired with strong (really strong) and hungry players. I lost the first two games I played, but after that, I got the hang of it. In this post, I'll review some of the games I enjoyed playing.

Justfavour VS @Madchess64

Madchess64 is one of the strongest players in the tournament. At the time I got paired with them, they were rated 2058. Immediately I saw that I got paired with them, I let out a sigh, “Lord, not again.” But somehow, I didn't give up before the game started. We both started our games well. We both building nice openings until they blundered their queen. Luck? Maybe. Maybe not. Regardless of whether it was luck or not, I seized that opportunity and utilized it well.

After that blunder, I gained total control of the game and won.

Justfavour VS @stayoutoftherz

My next game was with Stay. There's something about the way He plays that I can't seem to wrap my head around I once had a conversation with @justola and @b0s and they also agree with you. Just when you think you are on the edge of winning or playing well, you blunder against him and lose. For this game, I tried to play the King’s pawn game. When we both exchanged queens, I knew I had to be extra careful, but I guess I wasn't careful enough.

Justfavour VS @Madchess64

Again, I got paired with Madchess64. The second game against Madchess was the best I played in the tourney. I had 4 inaccuracies, 1 mistake and 0 blunders.Again, they blundered. Not a queen this time, but a bishop. After blundering their bishop, I guess my opponent got frustrated and I used that against them. The next move I pulled was absolutely beautiful.

There you have it! I enjoyed playing a lot of games, but I enjoyed these three more. I hope I play better next week.

Maybe I play so bad that people get careless. Often indeed I have streaks of total stupidity like today, when in 2 games in a row I just hung my queen. Fortunately as a compensation sometimes I have quite OK streaks with not many blunders :)

Next time, I'll be sure to play carefully. I hope it works.

@madchess64 is a lady! Good games @justfavour!

Wow. This information burst my brain

Interesting !!!

Oh!
Thanks, bro.

@justfavour, your games shocked me o
You were literally flying

Good games bro 👏🏼

Haha. Thanks so much, bro.
Let’s hope for better games this week.

@justfavour, my hive name is actually @justola1, so I won't miss you tags next time

And yeah, I agree with you
You have to be careful when playing with @stayoutofrthez. A dangerous player. Legit beats you when you think you have won

Oh! Whoa! I just noticed the “1” in your username. I'll take note of that.

Congratulations!
