Well, with this week's ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge, I needed to budget my time to make room to respond with an appropriate story. Time management as with any other attempt to manage your personal resources, is a learned trait. Just like a financial budget. One doesn't automatically know how to gain control unless some type of learning takes place. Too often both time and financial management fail. But we keep trying.
This challenge by @felt-buzz is told in exactly fifty (50) words. It presented the opportunity to explore the prompt this week "budget" and share a story along those lines.
My story is below:
Gregory banged his head against the one-arm bandit.
The thief took without remorse and wouldn't relent.
With shaky hands, he reached for the card.
His conscious issued scathing reprimands. You'll never afford the downpayment on that new home.
Balancing a budget was Mynra's strength.
But insufficient to overcome Gregory's weakness.

Bueno, con el reto ZAPFIC50 de este viernes, tuve que organizar mi tiempo para poder escribir una historia adecuada. La gestión del tiempo, al igual que cualquier otro intento de gestionar los recursos personales, es una habilidad que se aprende. Igual que un presupuesto financiero. Uno no sabe automáticamente cómo tomar el control a menos que haya un proceso de aprendizaje. Con demasiada frecuencia, tanto la gestión del tiempo como la financiera fracasan. Pero seguimos intentándolo.
Este reto de @felt-buzz se cuenta en exactamente cincuenta (50) palabras. Me brindó la oportunidad de explorar el tema de esta semana, «presupuesto», y compartir una historia en esa línea.
A continuación mi historia.
En una relación financiera perfecta
Gregory se golpeó la cabeza contra la máquina tragaperras.
La máquina se lo quitaba todo sin piedad y no cedía.
Con las manos temblorosas, cogió la tarjeta.
Su conciencia le lanzaba reprimendas mordaces: «Nunca podrás pagar la entrada de esa nueva casa».
Llevar las cuentas era el punto fuerte de Mynra.
Pero no bastaba para vencer la debilidad de Gregory.
