Bean Pods Filling Up 🌿: A Promising Harvest Damaged by Pests 🐛🌾

in Homesteading15 days ago

It is challenging to express my feelings right now without sugarcoating them. The lessons I need to learn are right in front of me, and I am open to gaining valuable insights from my farming experiences this year.

By assessing the yields one at a time, I can pinpoint where I might have gone wrong.

We don’t farm merely to achieve yields that don’t reflect the hard work we’ve put in; rather, we want our farm to be a true representation of our efforts so far. 🌱

However, certain factors have disrupted the outcome of our hard work, making it seem as if our efforts had little impact, which is why we are here.

As farmers, our responsibility is to address every problem on our farm as it arises. The silver lining is that we have consistently managed to do just that over the years. 💪

This year, a significant issue evident from the harvest has been insects 🐜 that appeared right after the flowers blossomed 🌸 and the green pods started to form.

Inside the pods, some liquids attracted pod-sucking insects, which drained the healthy contents, leaving behind only empty pods 😥.

Although these insects may have had their way this year, I am determined that next year will be a battle between me and them. I won’t let my hard work go to waste because of their presence, so I will be ready with insecticide to combat their invasion next season.

For now, let’s salvage what we have left and enjoy some good food 🍽️ until then.
