It's always going to be a factor in online games, but I think the blockchain does at least let you know who owns what. So I guess someone could still re-create things. It's reminding me of the stop killing games initiative.
I have played games where the developers left or shut games down. In turn all assets went to zero. Even if there is a blockchain what value is it if no one uses it. I have been pondering as to how long I can play this out. I mean one day I'll have to stop too.
It can happen to any digital game, and it's fairly common. Let's hope Splinterlands can survive.
