Hello everyone, comedy in anime often comes with elements like animation that shifts from chibi to moe, or even the use of the harem trope to add intrigue to the story. Many anime I've shared also incorporate animal costumes as a form of fanservice. Well, with all this in mind, some time ago an anime combined all of these elements, adding a conflict centered on religion and its horoscope. The result was an anime that caught the attention of many viewers with its unique blend of elements and simply had excellent comedy. So today I'll talk a little about "Etotama."
Hola a todos, la comedia en el anime muchas veces suele venir acompañada de elementos como la animación que pasa de chibi a un momento a otro, algún elemento moe, o incluso el uso del llamado harem para añadir más intriga dentro de la historia que se cuenta, así como en muchos animes que les he compartido aplican el tema de usar una vestimenta de animal a modo de hacer un poco de fanservice , bueno, teniendo todo esto en cuenta, hace algún tiempo un anime mezcló todo esto, añadiendo como toque principal un conflicto a través de una religión y su horóscopo, dando así como resultado un anime que llegó a llamar la atención de curiosos por todos estos elementos y que simplemente tuvo una comedia muy buena, por lo que hoy les hablaré un poco acerca de "Etotama".
Created by Takashi Hoshi and Tōru Zekū, and illustrated by Hiroma Hino, the manga series began serialization in 2013 and ran for three volumes published by ASCII Media Works. It was adapted into an anime in 2015, consisting of 12 episodes directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki and produced by Encourage Films, becoming one of the many anime series that made a significant impact that year. The story focuses on Nya Taan, a cat girl from the Chinese zodiac, whose dream and mission is to become part of the Chinese zodiac. The story begins with the question: Why didn't the cat become part of the Chinese zodiac?

Y es justamente donde nos centramos en la trama, llevándonos a la historia de Nya Taan, una chica gato perteneciente a la astrología china, y que su sueño y misión es formar parte de la astrología china, comenzando la historia con la premisa de: ¿Por qué el gato no logró entrar al zodiaco chino?
We are presented with a story full of laughs, battles with chibi animation, and characters belonging to the Chinese zodiac. With its harem element, all the goddesses are astrological goddesses, and the story centers around Takeru, a young student living alone who helps Nya Taan with her amnesia, thus unraveling the mystery she's creating. This anime has the common elements of fights and references, even the characteristic humor of anime from that era (around 2015), but it manages to avoid being boring. It plays with the added element of giving each zodiac goddess a personality befitting her animal, demonstrating a meticulous approach to the theme and blending it seamlessly.
Se nos muestra una historia llena de risas, batallas con animaciones chibi y personajes pertenecientes al zodiaco chino que, al tener este toque de harem, todas son diosas de la astrología y todo se centrará en torno a Takeru, un joven estudiante que vive solo y que estará ayudando a Nya Taan en su tema de amnesia y así desvelar el misterio que va formando. Este anime tiene esos elementos comunes de peleas y momentos de referencia, incluso ese humor característico de estos animes que salieron en esa época del 2015, pero al mismo tiempo llega a no ser aburrido, pues juegan con ese plus donde a cada diosa del zodiaco le dan una personalidad acorde al animal que representa, lo cual muestra detalle en cuanto a lo que es tocar ese tema y mezclarlo de manera fluida.

In this story, as a well-known reference, Nya Taan must fight each goddess of the zodiac to achieve the position and recognition she seeks. Everything hinges on the energy she must channel, and Takeru plays a vital role, as he's responsible for generating the necessary energy for Nya Taan to defeat each goddess—a small but indirect team effort. This anime caught my eye when it came out, and beyond the animation, I was drawn to the story (due to its similarity to one we all know). However, I really enjoyed it, from the way they handled the pacing and comedy to the ending, which I must say I found quite delightful and somewhat unexpected. This makes it a highly recommended series from my perspective.
Acá en esta historia, como buena y conocida referencia, Nya Taan tendrá que pelear con cada diosa del zodiaco para poder así conseguir el lugar y reconocimiento que busca, y todo será vital en la energía que esta ponga, así como Takeru tendrá un lugar vital, ya que es encargado de ayudar a que se genere esta energía necesaria para así Nya Taan tener el poder para ir venciendo a cada diosa, cosa que será un pequeño trabajo en equipo indirecto. Este anime se me hizo llamativo en su tiempo y, más allá de la animación, me centré mucho en la historia (por lo parecida a una que todos conocemos). Sin embargo, esta fue de mi gusto, tanto por cómo manejaron la fluidez, la comedia y el desenlace, el cual debo decir que me gustó mucho y fue un poco inesperado, lo cual hace que sea muy recomendada desde mi punto de vista.
