I have always believed that "knowledge is power," but not in the sense of domination over others, but rather as the master key that unlocks the cells of our own ignorance, our fears, and our limitations.
It is the most intimate and personal weapon we possess to forge our destiny. Those who know, those who truly understand, cease to be passive spectators of their lives and become its architects.
This power does not lie in the accumulation of meaningless data, but in the ability to discern, connect ideas, and apply wisdom with purpose.
And it is here that the phrase takes on a brutal urgency in our time. We live drowned in an ocean of information overload, where useful data and digital junk float in turmoil.
True power no longer lies in accessing information, but in learning to sift through it with a critical spirit.
We must develop an internal filter, a moral and intellectual compass that allows us to discard the superficial, the toxic, and the false, and retain what nourishes and edifies.
This discernment is the first step toward freedom.
Once filtered, this ideal information must be the fuel for our integral growth. It's not about knowing for the sake of knowing, but rather about transforming that knowledge into conscious action, better decisions, a deeper spirituality, and a more authentic connection with ourselves and others.
It's a daily process of learning, because the world changes, and we must evolve with it. Educating ourselves daily is not an option; it's a necessity to avoid getting caught in the web of manipulation.
José Martí saw it with prophetic clarity: *An ignorant people can be deceived by superstition and made subservient. An educated people will always be strong and free. An ignorant man is on the way to becoming a beast, and a man instructed in science and conscience is already on the way to becoming God. There is no need to hesitate between a people of Gods and a people of beasts. The best way to defend our rights is to know them well; that is how we have faith and strength: every nation will be unhappy as long as it does not educate all its children.
His words, as they always do, resonate today more than ever. Disinformation is modern superstition, and its goal is the same: to create docile servants of the system.
Faced with this, only an educated people, capable of thinking for themselves, will be strong and free.
And the people, that is us.
Education, which forms in science and conscience, is the only way to leave behind the bestiality of ignorance and aspire to that divinity that implies full autonomy of thought and goodness in action.
Defending our rights begins with knowing them so well that no one can take them away from us with lies. Our individual and collective happiness depends on this act of courage: choosing to be thinking gods, and not slumbering beasts.

Siempre he creído que “el conocimiento es poder”, pero no un poder en el sentido de dominación sobre otros, sino como la llave maestra que abre las celdas de nuestra propia ignorancia, de nuestros miedos y de nuestras limitaciones.
Es el arma más íntima y personal que poseemos para forjar nuestro destino. Quien conoce, quien realmente comprende, deja de ser un espectador pasivo de su vida para convertirse en su arquitecto.
Este poder no reside en acumular datos sin sentido, sino en la capacidad de discernir, de conectar ideas y de aplicar la sabiduría con propósito.
Y es aquí donde la frase cobra una urgencia brutal en nuestro tiempo. Vivimos ahogadas en un océano de sobreinformación, donde la data útil y la chatarra digital navegan revueltas.
El verdadero poder ya no está en acceder a la información, sino en aprender a cribarla con espíritu crítico.
Tenemos que desarrollar un filtro interno, una brújula moral e intelectual que nos permita descartar lo superficial, lo tóxico y lo falso, y quedarnos con lo que nutre, con lo que edifica.
Este discernimiento es el primer paso hacia la libertad.
Una vez filtrada, esa información ideal debe ser el combustible para nuestro crecimiento integral. No se trata de saber por saber, sino de transformar ese conocimiento en acción consciente, en mejores decisiones, en una espiritualidad más profunda y en una conexión más auténtica con nosotras mismas y con los demás.
Es un proceso diario de instrucción, porque el mundo cambia y nosotras debemos evolucionar con él. Educarnos a diario no es una opción, es una necesidad para no quedar atrapadas en las redes de la manipulación.
José Martí lo vio con claridad profética¹: A un pueblo ignorante puede engañársele con la superstición, y hacérsele servil. Un pueblo instruido será siempre fuerte y libre. Un hombre ignorante está en camino de ser bestia, y un hombre instruido en la ciencia y en la conciencia, ya está en camino de ser Dios. No hay que dudar entre un pueblo de Dioses y un pueblo de bestias. El mejor modo de defender nuestros derechos, es conocerlos bien; así se tiene fe y fuerza: toda nación será infeliz en tanto que no eduque a todos sus hijos
Su palabras, como siempre hacen, resuenan hoy más que nunca. La desinformación es la superstición moderna, y su objetivo es el mismo: crear siervos dóciles del sistema.
Frente a esto, solo un pueblo instruido, capaz de pensar por sí mismo, será fuerte y libre.
Y el pueblo, somos nosotros.
La educación, la que forma en la ciencia y en la conciencia, es el único camino para dejar atrás la bestialidad de la ignorancia y aspirar a esa divinidad que implica plena autonomía de pensamiento y bondad en la acción.
Defender nuestros derechos comienza por conocerlos tan bien que nadie pueda arrebatárnoslos con mentiras. Nuestra felicidad individual y colectiva depende de este acto de valor: elegir ser dioses pensantes, y no bestias adormecidas.
