Personally, I feel that the biggest obstacle to living a peaceful life is the desire to be more affluent and be living in a better state than others. And this desire is the one thing that drives us from being satisfied with what we have and becomes the root of all problems that is affected more than 90% of the population worldwide.
There is an endless race that everyone is going after and when a milestone have been met, a new milestone automatically appears. People just want to outdo one another so that in front of their friends and family, they will look impressive. From taking public transport to owning a car and then upgrading the car to show their prestige. Then from a simple flat and move into a condominium but not satisfied with a bungalow in their minds. From an engineer to desiring to be a director. Do we really need spend our short duration living in this crazy rat race? Are materials more important than family?
Sacrificing family time to get materials, is it worth it? Time to slow down and think of what really matters most to you.
